This is one of her best collections in a while. It's exactly what American fashion should be about. It's screams New York woman.

Pleased that there was some explanation concerning the first looks in the collection.
Happy to see DK showing another dimension for F/W, she has done this sharp and structured tailoring in the past....but it seems like such a while back now.
On first glance this could be another designer, with touches of JPG and the white shirts and black skirts reminiscent of Ralph Lauren, but her own touches are all over as it borders on very ladylike to very sexy. Her standard drapes have now become tucks, and the standout is the grey cocktail dress with the cutaway.
Very impressive in a lacklustre NYFW.

Stunning. Absolutely perfectly elegant and chic. I love the mix of ultra fem with masculine suit cuts. Well done! Of course, she rarely disappoints for me at least

Thanks for the clarification. Those first ten looks were so different and confusing and totally out of place that I was even starting to think to some sort of mistake I know that probably it would have been simply not possible, but not even seeing them on style or vogue.it looked sooo weird to me. Now I can say I actually did not like the choice. There's no continuity at all beetween that Casual Luxe line and the main line, the first part of the show really clashed in a bad way with the second one.
Aside from that, I quite liked both Tha main line got some impressive looks (and some horrible ones too, like Candice's one).

I agree with you BabyTurnsBlue - I like both collections too. I actually prefer the "casual luxe" line, though, mainly because it's stuff I'd actually wear. I don't have the lifestyle to walk around in most of those sculptural dresses and suits, so while I can appreciate it aesthetically, the other looks appealed to me on a more personal level.
