This bag (the Giant Sak) is absolutely lovely, the shape, size, proportions and details are perfection. D&B hinders it by putting it out in only the monogram, if it were leather Id get one for my mother. That monogram is gigantic, and the non hobo bags have this push lock buckle that is very similar to LV.

Dooney & Bourke Bags (especially this one)? One word: HIDEOUS! i'm sorry it's just such an ugly bag. and the price makes it even worse! i've never been a fan since i first noticed them on the market. They are way too pricey for their quality. I think they are taking advantage of people. Their bags are just like rip-offs of LV and Gucci, do you guys agree?

i totally agree, for the price they sell their bags for they should be at least come up with ONE original innovative design, but i haven't seen one yet. plus, ever since they came out with the "it" bags every teenage girl at the mall has one. i own a black slouchy DB but i won't be buying another...

I saw this online at Dooney and Burke. I was looking to buy the Treo 650 cell phone case Dooney has made for palmone. Anyway, I started to look around at the bags and saw the giant sac. I find myself going back to the site to look at it. I have never been a fan of dooney, but I am a sucker for logos. AND it reminds me of the Gucci. What does everyone think of this bag? At 255.00, I think it is a good everyday bag???

Honestly, I quite like that bag, I think if you have a good enough sense of style you could pull it off with little to no pretention.

I saw the Bolero bag at Macys, holy crap, it is hideous and oddly enough they only had like one or two, so maybe people did buy it.

id like that bag if they replaced the monogram fabric with something else. i quite like the shape of it, and the red leather handles. but the ugly monogram fabric ruins it for me.

Even though it is hideous all the girls in the pom-pom crowd have it. Also Ive noticed mothers buy them for thier tomboy daughters, a Dooney & Bourke won't make your daughter feminine...

I have not seen the bag in person. I did not even notice that the DB has changed on the bags. I just love the shape because it reminds me of the Gucci. I am going to take a look at it this weekend. I/ll let everyone know how it looks in person.

i think d&b is trying too hard to appeal to teens but they're failing miserably. yet girls still buy the ugly d&b bags (the scribbled hearts, the purple bag i posted). i always cringe when i see someone with those bags.

i was on the design team for dooney and bourke last year. they teamed up with teen vogue to suck out design ideas for free through a contest. i was one of the "lucky", and man was it an experience. peter dooney, the guy in charge, is like a 70 year old alcoholic with a.d.d. he just tells people what he thinks he wants and they totally kiss his *** like no tomorrow. vogue editors included. they already had all the prototypes made when we got over there, so it was basically pick out colors for enameled letters and zipper pulls on the ugly *** crap they'd already come up with. the scribble hearts was peters idea and he showed it to us when we were driving to florence. everyone hated it, and we told him how juvinile it looked, and he still went with it. every day we had to go to dinner, be on call, and stay up till like 2-3a.m. a bunch of the girls thought if they flirted enough it would get them somewhere or some sh*t. i was just the pissed off girl in the corner. and then one day he had us go to lunch and sketch sh*t. he collected these and now a bunch of the new bags are replicas of those drawings! sleezy sleezy people, and they only had us there to steal as many ideas as possible, because the hotel fare was pennies to what they would have to pay "actual" designers. i have totally lost respect for that company! im just glad i got home without getting drugged or molested or something!
