Not so much brands. But photagraphers, styling, lightning and makeup can. VS sucks at that in their catalogs. I do feel like most of Doutzens editorials were more interesting a few years back, but she was showed more often in a less bomshell way/or just more HF, then they do nowadays, which makes it look like she has less HF capability. But I was very pleased with her MUSE and HB editorials.

You wanna say a model's qualities of whether or not she is a good model depend on all that ? Sorry, no comment then.

And no, if a model is great she is great - no matter make up, stylists, lightining and all that etc. Doutzen for me is pretty average as HF model. But she is perfect beauty model.

I think that Doutzen is a good model overall but print is not her strong area IMO, her strengths are her runway walk, personality and charisma, and being so damn beautiful. In print Doutzen is good enough to pull off a good cover or a good ad image, but in general the full eds tend to be merely OK. Re VS, it's funny because based on their Tweets they seem to like each other personally, but I have said to myself a few times when looking at Doutzen's VS work that I don't think that Russell James' camera "likes" Doutzen, it "likes" Alessandra, Candice, Erin and several others, but not Doutzen.

Re high fashion editorials, some of them are model driven, or the model and her talents are a key factor in the editorial's quality, but in many eds the model is just a vessel or a mannequin and it is the concept, styling, sets and photography that drive the editorial's quality.

And I do think that VS can really screw up Doutzen's beauty. It is at its best when she's barely touched by all those artificial, over the top things.

This poor girl cannot win when it comes to her figure She's hardly manly. Seeing a model with some muscle tone is actually refreshing to me -- she's working out in order to improve her body, instead of resorting to other less healthy methods.

I see my post was deleted, so I will post again, I was not planning to discuss what we are not allowed to, what I wanted to say is that it looks like Doutzen changed her workout routine after having a baby, probably she does less weights and more cardio, so now her body is less mascular and more faminine and fragile (well as fragile as it can possibly get), so in my opinion she is just perfect nowadays

RE: to this post and the discussion that follows after, i was not referring at all to her VS catalogue work on that page I posted my reply on, but just her recent editorial/print work in general. In my opinion, Doutzen definitely was more of a chameleon starting out (can you even believe that was her in that Valentino picture in the link I posted?)-and its annoying because as much as I would like to say she is more than just a pretty face and really is a special beauty, her print work makes it really difficult to justify that. I agree with agee...her best qualities is her personality, charisma and spirit..but it is hardly projected in an image nowadays. We all know that modeling is really a talent and about evoking something from within..I never feel that from her pictures anymore. It could easily be anyone in majority of her pictures. Some of her work, like for instance Vogue Paris, feels reaaaallly awkward to look at...like a model just learning how to work in front of the camera. But that is just my personal opinion.

About her body...I think she seriously looks perfect right now!

ETA: Beautiful family btw..I remember thinking her husband wasn't very hot...but I think the marital bliss and new baby boy may be doing something for him too. Guy has a lil' glow now

Haha, I suppose I'm quite picky at that. I like models fragile but soft. It's probably quite impossible really. I really do admire her for having a healthy body and lifestyle. I just don't see the aesthetic of an athletic body.
