Can you tell us about this year’s Met Gala look? How did you incorporate the “punk” theme into your look?
I worked very closely with Olivier to come up with something we both loved. We wanted the dress to incorporate the punk theme but to still be modern and chic so the quilted leather and detail of the draping provided that effect.
How did you prepare for the big night? Any secrets to getting yourself camera ready?
I always go for a facial and a massage the weekend before the Met and use an oxygen mask the night before! The morning of I made sure to relax and spend some time with my son on the playground to de stress.
Tell us about your beauty look? Were there any specific products you used to help get that “punk” look?
Dominick used a lot of Elnett hairspray for my hair to keep the braid intact in the back! Meredith used my favorite BB cream and the Telescopic Mascara from L’oreal as well as lots of eyeliner and false eyelashes to get the smokey punk look we wanted.
Did you ever have a punk moment growing up?
I didn’t really have a punk moment but I was rebellious at a point. I was really into dresses with these wide purple pants underneath! Not a good look!
What tips do you have for taking the perfect picture on the red carpet?
As long as you are confident it will show in pictures and I think those make for the best red carpet poses.
Finally, what did you think of this year’s Gala and the exhibit overall?
I had such a great time at the Gala but I was surprised by how few people actually went for the punk look! I was hoping to see some more radical looks.
