Q:can we say that with doutzen that the dutch models are doing wel in the modelingindustrie?
S:very well.We are one of the best.Doutzen is ranked at 4 as one of the most beautiful models in the world.And that is very special for a country as small as holland.She is the face of loreal.L'oreal normally only works with personalities as Charlize ,penelope for their commercials .Doutzen has been able to the same for this company as a MODEL.Other dutch models as federique and karen have never been able to acomplish this.I really think that doutzen is going to be a celebrity.The commercial is being broadcast all over the world,everybody will see her.

kay how are the other dutch models doing?
S: To give you an example we work with the most renowed agencies in New York and Paris.These agencies have 5o girls in there database and seven of them are dutch.ther are so may agencies that want to place their models there ,so it is very good when you are able to place seven.
Q:how are you able to do that?
S:that really has to do with management.it sometimes happens that we can choose an nivea-campagne for 30.ooo or for a vogue shoot for 150 dollars.
that sometimes means that we choose for the vogue shoot ,because its better for the image of a model.if she does vogue first that will mean that she will be able to ask 5 times as much for nivea.so we dont go for the quik money but really think about the models career in the long run.we want that the models stay exclusive.
Q:What sets the models apart from the rest?
S:they are down to earth have good relationships with their parents.that makes them so good models.they are shining.if you look at the girls from russia they come from poor families and they become the provider of the family .they have a whole other position.a girl like that makes more money in a week than her parents in a month.the brazillian girls hardly speak any engilsh and they will have diffuculties taking going on the metro in paris.while dutch girls have a degree and are able to speak more langues .they have already seem a little bit of the world.They become models because the really want to do it an not just for the money.they have alot more personality.they arent just dolls.
Q:how is it with the anorexia and the use of alcohol and drugs.
S:I will never say that there arent any dutch girls with eating disorders,but that doesnt meant that it initially has to do with modeling.a lot of young girls are aware of their bodies.as a modeling agency we are very strict.we always go with the models if they have to go overseas ,so we really keep a close eye on them.in the 90's there were wild stories about drugs and alcohol but that periode with kate and naomi is really over.The new generation of models just really work hard.the world is so small that if you do something everybody will know it in no time.
Q:lets go back to doutzen .did you guys that when she walked in that she was going to be big.
S:yes we did!But nobody else saw it.it was really difficult in the beginning to get her work.she is so beautiful that alot of people felt that she was to commercial.she had never gone so far if she wasnt so persistent.doutzen really wanted to become a model and knew what she had to do.alot of models want to become modles but they dont realise how harsh the industrie is.how much you have to travel and how sometimes you have to do a wintershoot while outside is 35 'c
Q:in september holland next topmodel is going to start.do you think it will deliver alot of topmodels?
S:it is nice idea?it is good pr for holland.but an agency overseas will not be impressed with a girl that won a competion in holland.the big money isnt in holland ,it is in new york.the dayrate for model in NY is 7000 euro and here maybe 1000 euro.
