I can't wait until she's the focus of a really beautiful editorial. So far, she's mesmerizing backstage. She looks so thrilled and fresh faced.. I love her on the runway, with her hair bouffant and channeling Brigitte Bardot... but she looks a little lackluster otherwise? I'm not overfond of any of the editorials that have been posted yet, but man, that Vogue Italia cover as an indicator of things to come? I can't wait until she really hits her stride. Rocking. ^^

I love her strong eyebrows and her face is soooo beautiful . . . I haven't really seen her yet because I haven't been able to follow the whole fashion world as much since going abroad . . . she really has the whole package I think--great body, gorgeous face and the editorials looks great so far . . . thanks for all the pics!

she was in the dutch ellegirl, there she said that she always wanted to be a model, but she tought she would be arrogant if she sended pictures, but later that didnt care her anymore and she sended pictures to paparazzi, you guys know the rest

From student to supermodel in 9 months thanks to a holiday snapshot?! It happened to the Frisian Doutzen (18). ELLEgirl stopped by for a cup of coffee with her.
Becoming a model is something she always wanted, but Doutzen Kroes thought it would be arrogant to send pictures of herself to an agency. 'I was hoping some scout would approach me on the street,' she tells. 'But there are no modelling agencies in Friesland!' (Friesland is a province/region in Holland with approx 600,000 inhabitants) So after all she still decided to send a few photos to agency Paparazzi in Amsterdam. Life takes strange turns. Barely 9 months later she is sitting in the lobby of the trendy hotel Marcel in New York. Fashion Week is in full swing and Doutzen has done 10 shows. Besides, she has posed for lingerie brand Victoria's Secret too.
"It happened so fast, it's like a dream,' says Doutzen while she quickly drinks another cup of coffee because in a minute - it's 10PM - she has to set off for a fitting. Her first jobs for Strictly, ELLEgirl and ELLE were just finished, when she got a call while she was on a holiday in Spain; whether she wanted to come to New York for the shows. "Of course I wanted to!" In the meantime Doutzen is in Manhattan for a few weeks. She is accompanied by her booker Mo Karadag, who teaches her the ropes. "At the beginning I was doing the angry look on the runway, because I thought that's what you're supposed to do. Mo learned me to think about calm things, like water and sailing." He makes sure she eats right ("We're going to the health food store") and drags her to hot parties: "Yesterday we went to Wyclef Jean's birthday party. Nicole Kidman and Cameron Diaz where there too!" But there are times where she's lonely too. "The first day after Mo went back to the Netherlands, all I could do was cry. Now I know the other girls in the model apartment and it's actually pretty nice to hang out with them. The fact I'm Frisian helps too: I'm very down-to-earth."
She misses her boyfriend Eddy terribly, though he thinks it's awesome she's making it big. Her parents and sister are very proud of her as well. "My mom says the only bad part of it all is that it is all about how you look. I told her it's not like that, your personality matters just as much. If you're a total b*tch, then forget about it!"
Her schedule remains busy the coming season: she'll fly over to Paris and Milan, and besides, she has a shoot with worldfamous photographer Gilles Bensimon for US ELLE. After that she can relax on the Frisian land. If you can take Mo's word, Doutzen is gonna take the fashionscene by storm. "Her body is incredible, beautiful hair, perfectly symmetrical face. She could become very successful." What she earns with all that beauty? Doutzen and Mo rather don't want to elaborate too much on that. "It ranges from €300 to 25,000 a day... sometimes you just get a piece of clothing."
