Doutzen Kroes

She's 5.9/10 it's not very clear to me because every agency says something different. Let's say 5.9,5 ;)

she is soo cute in the video... I really start to like her!!!
( I know it is a lot of work... but could somebody please translate a part of it?!)

Supermodels.nl

I translated the first video.

Doutzen Kroes is 21 years old and she's a top model. Brands like Versace and Dior find her gorgeous.
Last month she signed a top contract with Loréal.
She's regularly on the cover of international magazines like Vogue...
After Amsterdam, New York and London, now is the turn for Milano. The new autumn winter collection is being showed there during the fashion week. That means for Doutzen casting, fittings, catwalk and a lot of make up and hair styling. Our journalists were with her this year.

(when her hair is done)
Journalist: do you like it?
Doutzen: This? No, it's boring! If it's a really complex hairdo, then I read somthing, because it sometimes lasts very long, But this here is quite simple.
J: How many shows like that do you do in one day?
D: Two, three, maximum five I guess.
J: And in between you have fittings and castings?
D: Yes
J: How long are your working days the?
D: I start around 7 or 8. It can be over at 9 p.m. But it can also last until 2 in the morning.
J: And then the next day again?
D: Yes, and that lasts for months.

(Then she gets explained how she has to walk the runway for the show)
J: Are you tense?
D: Now? No.
J: Are you somtimes tense/ nervous before a show?
D: Only when the heels are very high and I know it's difficult to walk in them. That kind of thing.
J: And today?
D: They are very high.
J: Are you going to practice a little before the show?
D: No

(she gets her picture taken in the mirror etc.)
D: Sometimes it's difficult to accept that everyone is touching your make up, hair and clothes all the time.

(show)

D: It was motorbike outfits. I liked it, I thought it was very 'proud' (??) but of course I didn't see the show so I'm not sure how it looked on the whole.
J: Do you sometimes wear clothes you don't feel well in?
D: Yes... No, not real. Well... Once I had to wear underwear and I didn't feel very comfortable.

J: Before every show, the clothes have to be put on size. This is doing during fittings.
(to Doutzen)
Do you often work for them?
D: Yes, every season.
J: What do you think of what they make?
D: Very nice.
J: Is it about clothing or about the models?
D: It's about the clothing. And they want to have the best models for their show of course. Those that are most on the news and that is going to bring up the most. That people will think 'oh, she was
in their show » It's a team work. I'm doing this for my advertising. Public Relations as they call it. And they hire me because it's good for them. We use each other but in a positive way. We need each other.
Ok, I gotta change clothes so you can't come in.

(The assistant at Blumarine)

The model agencies make all the appointments for Doutzen.
But who works for who?
D: They work for me. They get 20% of what I earn. I pay them to organize my work.
J: How is the relationship with them? Are they at your feet?
D: Yes because i could go away. No, not really, but they are careful. It's like I have a little company of my own. So in fact i'm a business woman.

(at Versace)
J: What is the most difficult part of walking?
D: To be relaxed. In the beginning you're too busy thinking about how you're walking. Then it looks a little stiff.I find runway walking the best part of the whole fashion week.

(Comments of the stylist at Versace)

D: You can see the difference between me and that other girl. We're very different types. She's very thin, no hips, not breasts...
J: How come these models are so thin?
D: I don't know. Not eating I guess.
J: Why do all these brands like that?
D: There are so many people that find it beautiful.Sometimes clothing looks good on very thin girls. Clothes often looks more beautiful on thin people than on fat ones. But you just have to eat, I think. I couldn't eat nothing.

D: The good part is that you get to be in very beautiful places, the bad part is that you're alone there. I can't tell my parents: look how beautiful! Or sometimes I call them from a hammock under a palm tree. So that's a disadvantage.
But everything positive and negative lie close to each other in this little life.
At one moment you think: How great what I'm doing!, and the next moment you think: what am I doing here?
J: Really?
D: Yes, all that money, and there's so much poverty in the world. And I was born like that. That's unfair. But well, then I think that I can do good things with it.
J: Do you have plans about what you want to do with that money?
D: I'm thinking about it, but I still have time. No I'm giving it for positive purposes. For the moment I can't do more. I have this feeling that I'm buying out my guilt feelings about the fact that I was born like that. But in the future I want to do different things with it.
J: You don't have to work for the money anymore do you?
D: Now, in fact not.. But you always want more. People always want more. I could live from the money I have, but I couldn't on living like I do now for a few years. People want more. And so do I.
J: More money?
D: Yes.
J: When you don't need more, what's left?
D: I just don't want to stay home doing nothing. It's not always about the money. You're in some sort of race to the top. And you want to get there. That is my aim. So I'm not going to stop because I have enough money.
J: No.
D: Sometimes I get sick of it all and then I'm homesick but I hold on and I go on. And then I think Doutzen if you do this or that... It's also very appealing/ attractive...

Doutzen was in NY yesterday shooting on 5th Ave. with Jason Shaw outside Bergdorf Goodman. Anyone know for what?
