I don't understand Claudia's appeal. She's very blah. Doutzen is more stunning. Her beauty is like WOW. She's more prettier than the overrated mannish Gisele.

Claudia is considered like the new Brigitte Bardot (One of the sexiest women in the world IMO... when she was young of course). She pretty, but Valeria Mazza (an old Guess model, who was considered as a B-list Claudia) is prettier.

And of course... Doutzen is prettier than Scheiffer & Gisele IMO. She has such a great smile!!!! But you know... The Supermodel stardom is over now. I would like Doutzen bring it back, but... I don't think she would be able, because Anna Wintor (Vogue Us Editor) never puts model on the Cover of US Vogue (as she used to do in the 90s). Unfortunately this magazine is too overrated (for me)

I think with Gisele it was more of a matter of people really falling in love with Gisele's persona than Gisele rising to the top because she's the prettiest. Gisele has a great natural energy and friendliness that I think is magnetic and alot of stylists, photographers, editors fell in love with that. Her face/body helped of course but honestly almost all models have lovely faces and bodies.

With Doutzen I think she's getting a big push right now. From Victoria's Secret, to that article in GQ and so on so forth people are starting to know her name. You cannot help but notice her beauty but she is slowly but surely getting regnition outside of fashion. It would help loads if magazines like US Vogue (and not just them but Elle, Allure, Bazaar and so on so forth) would put models on the covers of magazines because when they do people who aren't necessarily into fashion start to know/love the models. I think Doutzen stands to become very very big in the next couple of years. Perhaps as big as the Gisele's and Heidi's even. She could most certainly cross over into things like Sports Illustrated that help garner wider recognition and GQ loves her which is always a plus.

But how come Anna Wintour doesn't put models on the cover of US Vogue? Also another reason why every1 knows Gisele, is because she was dating Leo, and she was with him on the Oscar red carpet. Also it sounds pathetic and dumb, but I promote my fave top models like Doutzen and Jessica Stam on other forums such as Superiorpics and The Superficial by posting lots of their pics. I was surprised nobody had any idea who they were until I posted pics of them.

I saw her CK commercial with Gabriel Aubry during New Year's Eve. She looked STUNNING as usual. Its a shame that she's unknown to the general public, while overrated models like Gisele are famous. If only Doutzen, Bianca Balti, and my other faves had the same status as Gisele.

Doutzen is being recognized a lot these days. Call me selfish but I really
don't want her to get TOO BIG. TOO FAMOUS. TOO SOON.
I like for her to stay a bit longer in high fashion. I don't care for SI or VS
and if that's the path Doutzen is heading for I will be disappointed. My big fear is for
Doutzen to become another Gisele. Over-tanned, over-exposed, overrated.
It would be painful to see her go from a Beauty to a Beast.

im a little split on Doutzen becoming big. while i agree that i dont want her to turn into another Gisele, i think she deserves more mainstream attention. Not to mention the fact that she has the most potential out of the current models to really break through. Daria has missed her chance. Gemma and Stam are popular but their looks are too unique for the public and sasha does not have mainstream appeal.

and I loved her GQ interview. She seems like such a sweet and modest person, this diva reputations is ridiculous

^I agree that she is one of the few girls with a real shot at crossing over. Doutzen along with Hilary Rhoda, Iselin, Anja and the other New Classics (hee, I'm inventing a new modeling category) each have the sort of beauty that is really undeniable. Unlike the dolls or the aliens they are much more
palatable to the mainstream and as such could eventually become household names / rack up cash cow cosmetics contracts. There is also the risk of them becoming too mainstream and stopping edgy, high fashion editorial work altogether. I've seen this happen with so many stunning girls. They do some great eds, they get picked up by VS or some such company and suddenly you only see them in cheesy ads for lipgloss and third tier fashion rags. I don't want this happening to Doutzen. At all. Ever. I would like her to get a US Vogue cover however and to reap all those benefits while still maintaining her position as a respected low key model with gold chip campaigns and first rate editorials in fashion bibles.

Thats not asking too much is it

So glad to see that Doutzen is on the women's Versace campaign as well. She is perfect for Versace and I hope this will put her on the pages of US Vogue more often. I mean, September was great but I'd love to see more of her in Vogue. I think that even if they put her every month like they do with Caroline Trentini, I wouldn't be bored a bit.

Look at Angela Lindvall Career. She's doing Victoria Secret Show & Catalogs, Sport Illustrated pix, she played in movies, she had Cover Girl Cosmetic contract, She already had a Vogue US cover and we still see greats editorials with her in ID, Vogue Italy, Vogue UK, Vogue Paris, Another Magazine, Vogue US (not on the cover) and in a lot of ads as Fendi and Versace and she's still doing Fashion Shows. Plus she has two kids.

I thinks she's the best model for all those reasons and I hope Doutzen will have a carreer as Angela's!

^Absolutly, I agree with almost everything that's said in this page. I really respect Angela for her great combination of high-fashion/commercial. I think she's a better HF model though. Sometimes I feel like commercial clients are really into Doutzen, even more than high-fashion clients. I'm courious what will happen when the L'oreal commercials show off. I hope she will get (some) more attention from the general public but I hope high fashion will be/stay most important to her.
