Doutzen Kroes

I've been searching for it, but I couldn't find it... I hope you do.

The current issue of the Mini features our take on the 50 Most Fashionable People on the planet. We’ll spotlight some of our favorites starting with Doutzen Kroes, a Dutch superstar with a gorgeous face, a sharp intellect, and a very lucrative L’Oreal contract.

What was your first fashion statement?
I used to put my socks over my jeans and wear a headband with a ponytail! I absolutely wouldn’t wear any dresses, especially not pink- I didn’t want to be a girly girl! I was probably 7 or 8 then…Looking back, it’s funny, but my mom really didn’t like it and made me leave the house with my socks underneath my jeans! Halfway to school on my bike I stopped and did it my way again. Same way with the hair!

What is stylish to you?
Stylish to me means wearing clothes that make you look better! Sometimes I can look at someone wearing something stylish but when I try it on myself it just doesn’t look the same! It depends on so many things like body type, hair, and skin tone.

What are two things that no one would guess about your fashion sense?
That most of the time I wear flats, jeans, and simple t-shirts. And when I travel I pack very little and buy things from local stores.

You’re a spokeswoman for L’Oreal and former Vogue cover model. You’ve had a pretty busy year; how did that impact how you look in public and present yourself?
People see me in magazines and of course in real life I don’t look like that! It is a lot of pressure to always look good anytime of the day. Sometimes I do wear more makeup and I’m conscious of what I wear…Feeling good and being happy makes everyone beautiful…and I am happy!

she has a showcard for NY but we will ahve to wait and see for when the bigger shows start!!cant wait!!

Doutzen is so beautiful! She is like Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor. My eyes are happy whenever I see a picture of her.

It was a bit sad on the Youtube video where she says how hard it is to be handled all the time (makeup artists, dressers, etc). Modeling is hard for introverts.
