this is really depressing..i don't mean to sound so shallow, but seeing how much she's changed over her modeling career just really makes me sad. She is not the same girl i fell in love with, i mean i don't expect her to be with all she's been through but man..

she needs that hair color again ^! (and of course she was so skinny, her face looked its best) she actually had beautiful bone structure

Exactly. All these 'memories' are getting pathetic. 
Doutzen was not Doutzen , she still IS. And if people are fans of her as they say they actually will like her regardless of what hair color she has or if her face rounder or not. Noone stays the same, time goes, people do change, models change too. For the bad or for the good its not up to us to judge. 
True fans are happy she moved to bigger things, makes good money and is doing great. IF she wanted to do some HF (runways) Im sure she would have done that. But nah, people want 'their Doutzen back in 2004-5-6-7', sounds pretty selfish. She doesnt have to satisfy such 'fans' at all and do only stuff that makes them 'happy'.^If the people are saying this about Doutzen is because they care about her, if not they wouldn't bother coming here, don't you think? People don't want the previous Doutzen because that's impossible, we are just stating a fact, that's how she changed, of course everybody changes ! And don't come with the True fans, because models' threads aren't fan clubs as you think they are, there's actually people that like the models' but don't worship them & say what they think whether is a positive or negative opinion! Don't even start a discussion about this, DON'T !!!

^She just gave her opinion. I know she changed a lot, and that she's no longer the "Runway" model, and now is more the VS Angel, the L'Oreal model, etc. But Juliax is right about that "dramatic" part. She's still gorgeous, and her pictures and editorials are just great to look and, even the NEW ones.
And since everyone can give their own opinion here, I'm not a huge fan of most of those runway pics, the makeup they put in her, most of the time, just make her face (and every other model face) looks unnatural, and almost unreal, I don't know exactly how to explain. For me, it's "unfair", you know? Such a gorgeous face, and covered with a strange makeup, so both the dress and the scene gets, I believe, more attention. But I believe that a pretty model makes the dress more and more desirable. Maybe I just don't understand high fashion as you do, but I think it's just okay an opinion from someone who looks HF from another point of view, right?

i don't think that anyone stating the obvious about Doutzen changing a great deal (as far as outer appearance) means they aren't a "true fan", whatever a "true fan" is anyway when it comes to someone who's a "model". I can only speak for myself but i personally don't become a fan of a model based on how good she is doing with her money income. I become a fan because of how they look- their outer appearance, and yes over time when watching videos and reading interviews you may become more fond of them in a less superficial way. I still think Doutzen is wonderful..her spirit, her personality, her charm etc. but as far as the looks go i think she's passed the peak of her beauty. And along with her beauty, has gone her grace, sensuality and elegance, which is another thing i admired about her. Now trust me, i know saying things like this sounds awful and incredibly shallow, but i don't know what you guys expect? The modeling and fashion industry is not about inner beauty..never has been. You're talking about a model..a M-O-D-E-L. Not an actress or singer..all they do is walk down runways, take photos, star in commercials and occasionally make appearances...how can you really deem yourself a "true fan" of someone based on that? Models are images, we all know that..i'm sure Doutzen knows it too. I don't think us as posters should feel obligated to say that she's flawless and beautiful and stunning and gorgeous and blah blah no matter what..that's what her friends are for 
So I don't understand why people like myself who like Doutzen less are being frowned upon. Models are images and when that image fades, i think it's understandable why someone's liking of a model can fade as well.

I miss the 'old' Doutzen too. Of course people and things change and we cannot live in the past, but her modeling appeal for me is gone. I still admire her as a beauty just the same. As a model, not the same anymore. And that does not mean I dislike her at all.
And let's make something clear: the right Doutzen has to do what she wants to with her career is exactly the same people has to say how she's changed and how they miss high-fashion Doutzen Kroes.

Everyone has the right to post their opinions - go back and read it again Festat, i didnt take any rights for 'fans whining about HF Doutzen times' away from them - I said it IS getting silly and annoying when people get stuck in the past and dont accept the todays Doutzen with 'rounder face', bigger money, more fame. They say what they have to say on that, I say what I have to say on that, thats all. NO brain breaker right ? Thinking people will make correct conclusions.
I am even afraid to think how many complaints and 'miss my doutzen' there will be if Doutzen ,say, appears in SISE

Of course everyone has the right to give an opinion, but you are always the only annoyed about everything & start discussions about things that don't matter, you should just get over self for christ's sake !
We are just stating a fact & everybody accepts Doutzen like she's if not people WOULDN'T BOTHER coming here, we are just stating the changes she went through over the years & I agree with Mchunu that my interest for her now is less than previously but I still like her & always will. I don't worship Doutzen as you think True fans all do, so like I told you before I say whatever I want because this is a FASHION SITE !
