Dover Street Market joins with Topshop to support new talent at London Fashion Week
Comme des Garçons has joined forces with British retailer Topshop to help support new design talent taking part in London Fashion Week. The recently opened Mayfair, London flagship location for the designer label has set aside a temporary showcase area for a selection of Topshop's New Gen sponsored designers. These are Jonathan Saunders, Gardem, Ashish and Sinha-Stanic who have all produced limited edition collections for the duration of the showcase. They go on sale from February 13-25.

Great news! I hope it works out because London doesn't exactly have a support system,so perhaps this will help get some fresher names out there.

this is such a great idea! i will have to take another trip to london soon....

These go on sale from February 13-25. Jane Shepherdson, brand director for Topshop, told WGSN: "Comme des Garçons approached us to ask if we would be interested in a joint promotion to showcase some of London's new design talent and as that's what we set out to do with our New Gen sponsorship programme, we jumped at the chance. It's a great partnership for all the designers we work with. Rei [Kawakubo] likes to nurture new talent." Shepherdson also confirmed that as a result of dealing with Kawakubo, the Milan store 10 Corso Como is interested in selling Topshop's in-house designer line, Unique. The latest designer collaboration to join the international roll call at Dover Street Market is Levi's; with a new Junya Watanabe collection in-store this week.

Rei Kawakubo seems to be very earnest in developing fashion and keeping it original and truly great.
