Vogue Italia (May 2004) "American Pie"
Ph: Steven Meisel
Models: Anne Marie van Dijk, Cinthia Dicker, Doville Virsilaite, Katje Schekina, Lily Donaldson & Theodora Richardson Art + Commerce via nothingless
She's not exactly new but her beauty is a milestone for our eyes. There was a clear difference between before and after Dovile, the girl who brought so much to our aesthetic vision. Who opened doors to new beauty types as much as she allowed us to have a brand new look at classic-looking models. So, she's not exactly new. But she looks so fresh in that editorial from Jalouse (just released today) by Amy Sioux who also did the striking story with Madisyn Ritland last month. She was one of Steven Meisel's muses a few years ago and even if this might belong to memories, her career remains more than interesting with a few editorials each months in various magazines (count her editorial by Mel Karch for US Marie Claire last year as a real must-see). It's sometimes not so much about being popular or talked-about, being able to work a lot and especially gathering visually thrilling jobs side by side could be more important if you are focused on a long career, everlasting. And overdressed as the title says (let's face it, no one works out animal prints as she does). It's just a typical saturday topic but no less than a vision for a lifetime.
A huuuge thanks to you guys for posting here
Pipoca, a very special thank you for all the pictures you brought !
It's impossible to get enough of Dovile...
She's unique, inspiring, besides her fragile look, she evokes a certain kind of strenght, such as freedom and independance to me
Kudos to her for the amazing work she's done and still do lately. Her career's longevity is inspiring.
