Dree Hemingway

I've just watched that video about her on modelinia. Damn, she seems pretty shallow and kind of not so educated aswell. I was so annoyed by her American teenage attitude. Blah!

so true- she kind of seems like a spoiled brat. she depends on her pedigree. i mean, her last name isn't even really Hemingway! her mom is the Hemingway lineage. arg..

THAT SAID- i think she's a great model, has a great look, and wears clothes sooooo well.

She had rad style!! B)^_^

i disagree.
i think shes gorgeous and an amazing sense of style.
and i think she has a sense of humor, shes not bratty.

Yeah, I watched the video again and seem to be missing the "brat" vibe others are picking up. I think she's lovely and she's got great style.

I know what you mean. Just a *it* girl to me.... who just decided that modelling would be fun for a while.
Lots of people comment on her great style (which she does have).
But she comes from a family with a name and money. She has the time and means to have great style!
Maybe it is just me but I don't find that really impressive.

Give me a girl that has made her own way and has a real nice style.

.....but as mentioned above,
she does have great style.

her last name is Crisman, or something like that, and she uses Hemingway, there must be certantly a push from the last name in there, since she has been modeling part time since 2004 using Crisman, and didn't book much at all.
And as far as her style, I think she looks great, but it seems easier if you actually have the monetary means to spend on a Balenciaga jacket, an YSL ring, and Alexander Wang shoes, you spend ton of money on a few key/it pieces, and you have a look that is rad. It's easy maths 2+2=4, ahe's not wearing anything obscure, or different, or new, there' a lot of girls that have been dressing that way.
I think she moves well in front of the camera, but I don't like her on the runway, and even if she doesn't seem like a brat to me, I do not like the young uneducated vibe, since she's not a teenager.

^Well, signing to elite+ also may have helped give her the push...

Yeah the agency switch was definitely something that helped a great deal. Nothing beats having the right management behind you. Also her physical appearance has changed from 2004 to now which surely played a part as well.

I don't get the hate really about her being the descendant of someone famous.... Honestly, how many other models have famous parentage right now? Even when you look back there are tons of models who were either socialites or the children of the rich. I don't really care who someone's parents are as long as they do their job well. Would she be a model if she didn't have those connections? Maybe not but I'd wager she's more suited to the task than Daisy Lowe or either of the Geldof girls.

^Totally agree with you there!
But IMO I respectfully do not get her appeal as a model and that has nothing to do with family roots.
There is no hate from me - my post regarding her style came from what I have read and seen on it. It is fantastic but my point was that she has the time, money and family name to have it all at once unlike others. Sure it doesn't make it bad but everything I read or see about her is just in your face (so to speak) and I guess (again IMO) that just rubbed my the wrong way.

She is probably a really nice girl and good for her for getting this far:flower:

Oh no Paws, I don't mean to accuse you of hating. Mea culpa. I just feel like I've heard other people sort of bash some of the models who are kids of celebs just off the bat without giving them a shot. There are some who I think have a lot of potential, Dree and Georgia May Jagger have really unique looks I think.

I understand your point though, there are some models that I just don't understand at all too. I also agree that there is definitely a monetary factor that helps a lot of the current it girls when it comes to style. If you have the cash to spend on things like a custom Calvin suit you're going to look amazing.

i think i like that suit a little bit less now that i know it was custom tailored for her.

it kind of ruins the amazing quality of her finding such a perfect suit & rocking it so well.

like its not as special anymore or something...

Totally, I agree a 100%, but starting using Hemingway instead if Crisman, did a whole lot as well. Ford paris did a lot for her in the months before she signed with Elite.

unfortunatelly ive realised i just like her style, i cannot find her pretty as much as i try to
