There’s just something pleasing about Drew Barrymore. It takes a special girl to give David Letterman a table dance on his birthday in front of millions of people, and somehow manage to do it in a fun, completely non-sleazy way.
Barrymore ponders this moment in the March issue of Jane, saying she’d never do it again because she’s less free with nudity now (which is a shame, as anyone who saw her on the beach in Hawaii yesterday can attest -- hotness!)
She also ruminates on what she wants her kids to be like, and how she feels about getting older (she turned 32 yesterday).
It’s hard to believe the same free spirit was in rehab at age 13, but hopefully that means that Lindsay and Britney will have pulled it together by their early to mid-forties.
The mag hits newsstands February 27. See a preview of the interview below:
ON FLASHING DAVID LETTERMAN ON The Late Show:
“I’m thrilled I did that, but no way would I do it now. Man, I was such a sexual, free, f-cking nudist little bird running around. I love it. I’m still sensual, but I’m much more modest now. But I think I’ll always be a bit of a wood nymph when it comes to sexuality. It’s like, ‘F-ck it, be free and have the most fun you can.’”
ON HER UNSTABLE FAMILY LIFE:
“I’ve got one wacky family…I understood early that we were not going to have stability. You just have to find your own way and not sit in sh-t and cry about what you think you don’t have. Get over it.”
ON HER FRIENDS:
“Beyond any [romantic] relationship I’ve ever had, my friends are the ones who have been consistent rocks in my life. They make me feel like everything will be okay.”
