I hate that you are probably right. 😭

I was a DVN customer for over a decade buying some pieces from each collection, but when he stopped doing the relaxed opulence, I found it hard to find anything. Here, there is nothing I desire because it is too much of the Margiela man, like @avonlea002 said, and I am not a Margiela. I hope he gets it together.

With a hint of Sean McGirr
(and that's not a compliment in my mind)

Like many others commented, I immediately saw this and thought "did this guy find a dossier of Galliano's left over Margiela designs in some Parisian dumpster and turn them into a DVN collection?"

Tragic. Nobody needed this but of course this is exactly the sort of thing "HF twt" eats up LOL

So we finally discovered where Galliano went after Margiela...could someone remind this guy he is at Dries Van Noten, please??

I’m glad we all share the same thoughts. I thought JG at Margiela as soon as I saw this. I miss the manly Dries man. Can we have him back for a bit please?

Feels very Nosferatu! And DVN for me is very positive, subtle joy, and an ode to nature and life.

This... however. It's about theatre kids reading too much Anne Rice's books. CHOP CHOP
Came here for this comment as I just watched it on Sunday. With that said, it’s a bit too twinkish for me.

I love the romanticism and art direction, independent of the collection.

Wasn’t he JUST appointed last month??? I understand he’s internal but still, the amount of time he had to create a debut collection is insane. Don’t get me wrong. It’s bad. And it’s not reading DVN. Like at all. But also, what do you expect from someone who had FIVE weeks?

five weeks is quite generous, for some houses who do every fashion week and pre-collections, five weeks is probably all they haver regularly.

Hm.....he had months, not just 5 weeks. Wasn't he there for years? He knew the company's design process and also led the studio's Women's SS25 show. Dries' retirement announcement was in March 2024, so stop making excuses for him. I fear people will point this out when the new new Celine flops; I've already seen one comment saying Michael just arrived a few days ago in Jan. Honey, the new new Celine guy has already had months since the announcement...

This on the runway would have no one saying it looks like Galliano for Margiela (but I agree it kind of does in the photos).
I love it! beautiful pieces.
