Dries Van Noten Menswear S/S 2022 Paris

:sigh:just dumb:sigh:

Never thought I’d see the moment when Dries stoops to the same level as that JW person. Silly childrenswear.

Dries what are you doing? Dries, staph.

Apart from the fact I see sh*t bc of that lighting and distractive background, I have no clue what is he doing. I get the prints and his signatures but overall is a joke and weird mix of Vetements with cheap-looking streetwear brands in the worst possible meaning of that word (as if any other existed any more...).

Dries, get your sh*t together, send them on the runway and make normal collection. Lord, as if covid was not enough struggle!

I like the shirts and outerwear w/ the images of Antwerp printed on it, but that's it...I like it, but can't say much more than that.

The perforated pieces look good in the womens, but not the mens. It's not a bad idea for the mens line, but it just wasn't executed all that well.

Anyways, if that Sander guy needs a job, I'd recommend Dries coax him back into the fold..and pay him really really well!

The collection looks like stuff you can get at duty-free at best. And the styling/presentation is definitely not helping to sell this collection.

Oh well, there is always next season.

It is a little bit late to the game from him to jump on the streetwear, disheveled, blurry imagery. This was done 5-6 years ago.

For me he lost it the moment he has been bought by Puig.

And this collection proves that I am right.

I was actually heading here, wanted to ask if he had been bought by someone or what the hell had happened.

I was once an active and dedicated customer of Dries Van Noten, often buying directly from the flagship shop Het Modepaleis in Antwerp. If I couldn’t get into a shop to buy pieces, my SA would send photos and suggestions and mail what I chose. I could always find something I loved.

Now, I cannot find one piece I’d want to wear in this collection or any of the previous collections for men. Maybe it really was the label being purchased by Puig that ruined things, but it seems he’s been getting less creative for years. It makes me sad.

i hate to say this as well but this is so disappointing. dries is always one of the very few men's collections that i look forward to, and i can't find a single piece that i adore. was hoping to find some shirts for next summer when we all hopefully can go on proper vacations at last, and there's not a single print that i get here.

Perhaps now would be a good time to start investing in the pesoianl pleasures of hunting down older pieces from the real Dries-- not these corporate, assembly-lined churned basics. I’ve always taken inspiration from the brand’s styling more than I’ve wanted to wear the designs, frankly. Looking precious and taking an hour to get dress has never been remotely attractive; and Dries’ easygoing takes-2min-to-get-dress romanticism has always been an instant draw. In hindsight, A/W 2018 was the last strong showcase of his casually elegant brand of styling. Such a deeply old world mood:

Exactly this. I loved the preciousness, yet relaxed attitude of the items that is missing. I always felt like royalty off-duty. I own this coat and just throw it on and I cannot tell you the number of looks and compliments I get. There are no pieces like this in the last few collections.

Jesus, what is this? Dries usually never disappoints, but this is ugly as hell. Surely the styling and the photography don't help, but it's so bad.
