Dries Van Noten Menswear S/S 2024 Paris

And just like that Dries is back.

I want every single looks in this collection. Especially the opening and closing coats. They look so good. The flowing coats are calling my name.
The color palette is amazing. It's vibrant and pops without being too much in your face.

Great!
Clothes that looks good, clothes you want to see on a man, clothes you want to borrow from your man…
Clothes you keep forever (I imagine).

Here what I said about YSL by Vaccarello: Dries is doing sheer, colors and soft fabrics and it looks seductive, it can be worn by a woman but it’s not a caricature.

You must convince your husband to snatch up some of the suitings/blazers/pants, then snatch them from him for yourself to wear!

Don’t know what happened a while ago with the gender fluid children playing dressup that plagued this label, but it’s great to see him back on track finally— although not quite at the level he was a decade ago. The structured, squared shoulders of some of the suit jackets paired with cascading pants— very reminiscent of Madonna-in-the-white-suit-on-Arsenio-1990, looks so much better on women (hello Lola…) than on men. But the more unstructured shoulders and the cascading pants have been a personal wardrobe staple for forever— and always in camel, to boot. The camel blazer and matching shorts and the belted double-breasted suit in sand are to-die-for.

Getting back closer to the Dries I used to buy before it veered and derailed into Gen Z-ish hell. All I am missing are embroideries and some nice prints.

Some really great proposition here and there but as a whole it's forgettable.

This feels very Tom Ford. Make a pencil skirt with the same fabric, unbutton the shirt, replace flip flops with heels and you get a nice womenswear look.

A very uplifting surprise! I feel kind of cool now because I've been walking around in long sleeves and pants with flip flops for the past few months out of laziness lol

Everything has been said! So happy. This is where I’m spending money next season. Back to dries. Feels great.

absolutely love it! beautiful palette, proportions, quality, cut, everything! great casting as well

Dries is one of my favourite designers. Like Elbaz, he for me is a master mixer. He’s usually genius at mixing contrasts, particularly his way with textiles: heft and lightness, texture and silk, formal and casual, for example.

This collection seems lethargic, however. Perhaps it’s because most of the forms/shapes are languid, without any structure - or tension - which makes the collection a bit forgetful imo.

That being said, I like the collarless coat (will collarless be trend next year?) in look 8, and the outerwear in look 16. I also love the fluidity of the trousers. But nothing makes me want to create a wishlist just yet. Nor aren’t they pieces that I can’t find elsewhere. Let’s see how I feel though after seeing the vid.

Ahahaha! I can only wish…
We went to Celine, I ended up with a men suit and him…a tracksuit lol

But he does have some Dries so, why not! Look 6 would be perfect for me to borrow but that kind of very specific tailoring just don’t work when you « borrow from your man ».
Ami is really only the brand I can borrow from.

This show is not spectacular but the climate of fashion make this kind of proposition even more relevant.
There’s a sense of real life about it.

It's great to see him back on track... It's a safe collection, but with so many desirable pieces. The suits are great, wonderful to see him do some serious tailoring again.

Such a gorgeous palate. Hues of the evening sky, turning into night. And the slightly peaked shoulders on some of the jackets (look no. 2 for example), very very chic.
