Dsquared Spring Trunk Show

the similarities.
Well.. the reason they are doing a trunk show is to get a general interest what people want for next season.
To me... I think it is just a way of Retailers maximize their profit. They will take all orders.. They will say to you that they order limited amount. Since you have place the order during the trunk show 80% chances are you are going to keep it when it arrive. That way they can make sure what they order does go out of doors. At the same time they can boast that the merchandise didn't even made it to the shop floor.
Jefferey has been doing this for the past 3-4 seasons, I know this because I got sucked into doing orders when I was a HUGE Dsquared fan. Now. I just hate Dsquared
overpriced for nothing... BTW.... don't get sucked into buying anything on Dsquared... it has so many shops carry it now, don't worry chances are, if Jefferey didn't have it others will. I hate to boast but I literally know every single store that carries it. BTW, Saks at NY, SFO, Miami, Michigan, Seattle just to name a few.. all carry Dsquared...

Yes I know... I am suprised that it has only 2 distribution point in NYC...(wait... there is one more... Manhasset in Long Island) but you can always get it in Boston, Rhode Island, chicago, Michigan or Miami and those shops well send it to you and you save on paying the tax etc...
Well boxma.. like I mentioned before.. they can ask their client pre-order... they will tell you that they will only order 1 size each for each design... but the fact is that they can place as many as they want (ie 1000 size Large or the same design if there is a demand for it) and order it without you knowing it because 'they never made it to the shop floor!!!! A way for Jeffrey to max their $$$$.
I kind of figure it out when they told me to order the Dsquared shoes early and I did. It was the first shipment. But then afterward it had 3 extra shipments for the same shoes (later I found out from my friend who also bought it whilst I thought I got something that no one else could get!) blah blah blah.. you get my drift
Never pre-order for me anymore unless it is an item which I got to have. With so many designers to choose from(Helmut Lang, Mcqueen, les Homme, Veronique Branquiho and the list just gets longer and longer) I can substitute for one thing to another right?!
I don't think trunk shows are a sign of problems at a store....saleswise....Barneys, Bergs, Saks, etc., all have them...die hard fans will order early....some people have it like that where they can buy what they want, when they want at full price and these stores cater to them......
