Duffy

Got the album yesterday and I LOVE it. Her voice is just brilliant.
I have listen it too some times now and it's really lovely album
Her voice is really nice. I would like to get lyrics in booklet though.

i love mercy...it's so catchy and reminiscent of a time passed..

ive gotta say i'm shocked watching her in action...singing mercy live in that youtube video posted on the first page....firstly ive only seen a few promo shots of her and she looks so different live....i cant believe she's only 23...she looks 35

her live vocal also sounds remarkably similar to the studio version...normally that's not the case...so good on her...she definitely can sing...what mature vocals for such a young girl...it's amazing :woot:

she doesnt look very comfortable on stage...i think she needs to develop her stage presence but given her young age and the fact that this is just all starting to happen for her recently, i think she'll be absolutely fine...she'll grow into herself as a performer and i'm sure by the end of this year and all the publicity she'll be a different performer altogether...

does she write all her own stuff.?

in any case i think she's fab..

I really love her new album, her voice is just fantastic! I'm buying her album today.^_^ It's going to be great to listen to at summer.

thanks so much for that link tiger...so true what they say about the PR machine behind so many of these up and coming stars, including duffy....they always have very clever teams of people who know exactly the way to market them. in any case, she is a talented girl. and what a complicated childhood....no wonder she turned to music as her solace.

I've heard of her because she's worked with Bernard Butler, great voice but it stops here. Her music doesn't grow on me...
That is so true, i dont know but maybe her second album will be better, i am just not impressed by it although there are some good songs on there.

I just heard her song on the radio and it's really catchy..she seems really talented.

she's very blonde and very photogenic...
which is great for the marketing machine...
but i am just not feeling that retro wannabe 'soul' sound...

:ermm:...

I feel the same.
It sounds very forced and over produced to me.

I really want to like her but just don't.

haha i actually live in rock ferry as in the rock ferry the songs after her nan lives here lol .. we all found it so funny when the song came out as its really not a nice place to live at all its so funny... we were all hoping someone would come and research rock ferry and show the world what a dump it is.. dont get me wrong no place like home i love it

I absolutely love "Mercy"! I came across the song quite by accident and had it on replay all day at work. I do agree that she looks a lot older than she appears but her voice totally makes up for it, I think she is very talented. I missed her concert on Monday, I was sooo mad!

I hate to say it but she won me over. I had ignored her music for so long because of the Amy Winehouse comparisons. Her sound might be a little packaged but her songs are catchy as heck. I'm a sucker for 60's songs anyway, so I shouldn't be surprised.
