Dusty Colours S/S 06

Couldn't agree more...

And I love these dusty "colourless" colours... I'm with helena about the dove!

 dusty colors. I find that they look excellent on my skin tone, and they're just low-key enough to have some true color.

Mmmm ... black I think is actually a pretty difficult color to wear next to our faces, esp as we get older ... I think it was Bazaar that recently discussed this as some length ... I am very fair & if you can believe it I didn't wear black much at all for many years. I still think it's best for me to wear a scoop neck that puts it as far away from my face as possible.

I also think that these dusty colors are not one monolithic set. I have mentioned already the difficulty I have wearing fleshtones (mistaken for wearing nothing at all :ninja:), but dusty roses/corals with a bit more depth are my very best color. Icy greys I can probably pull off, but these are best on people with very different coloring from me. I also do well with lavender, both dusty and clear, and these work for a range of colorings.

So if you like this trend, would just encourage you to go try a range of them on ... I'm betting you can find something that will work for you. It should be a fairly rare person who can't wear any of them. It's true that not everyone can wear muddy colors, but some of these colors are clear. And, ivory/oyster is much easier for many of us to wear than dead white.

I am thinking about pairing a sea blue/green on top with navy on bottom for spring a la Lanvin resort. I haven't gone in for navy in years, so this would at least be fresh & different for me

i do think that pairing these colours with BLACK as an accent colour is what we will see very often...

if you didn't notice...we haven't seen the last of black from fall...
it's still carrying over into spring...

i think that historically one would wear a black bottom with a lighter coloured top...
but i feel that the more modern look now is a blk top with a pale bottom...
which is a lot easier to wear for all skintones......

*gorgeous pics posted shopsmuch...!!...thx

My favorite colors, when they look very pure and innocent  And also when they're overdyed (whatever that means) the way Lanvin did them the last several seasons. Dusty muted rose, teal, and grey, they all go so well together.

i feel those colors or nude tones make me look sick...what other trends will there be, we know there is always an opposite end of the spectrum. i have definitely had it with pink.
