Dyeing shoes?

I have a pair of shoes that I want to dye black, has anyone done this? Is there a place that can dye shoes or bags?

I've done that myself, and had it done by ordinary shoe repair places. Success depends on the material of the shoe, the care you (or the cobbler) take, and just how perfect you need the outcome to be. The edges of the pump or sandal are the iffy part. BTW, suede CAN be dyed, but it's tough to keep it from becoming shiny.

I have a pair oif shoes in canavs/leather that i want to dye, but I really need it to becme perfect black.

Does anyone have any experience regarding canvas fabric? please help! Will the colour run in the rain or fade? will it look cheap?
