Edie Campbell

“I always find Victoria’s Secret models a bit weird,” the girlfriend of Otis Ferry tells Love magazine. “It’s just a load of girls going, 'Look how good my cleavage looks’. It’s purely women offered up to men. Regardless of the reality, I would rather be idealistic and believe women are better than that.”
The alumna of St Paul’s Girls’ School, who is the daughter of the architect Sophie Hicks, is even more scathing about Kelly Brook, the actress and model, who recently split up with Thom Evans, the former Scotland rugby player.
“You get girls that have made a s––– tonne of money out of taking their clothes off – and largely by being a sex object,” she says. “Victoria’s Secret is like coal mining; Kelly Brook is like a coal mine. It’s not good for the general environment, but, until you find an alternative source of energy, then good for you.”

I respect that she has her own opinion about the brand and what it stands for in her opinion, but to a lot of people VS isn't about just being sexy for someone, it's about feeling empowered and feeling good about yourself and being proud of your body and trying to get that message across to the general public.

I dunno, just my opinion but she didn't come across as the brightest to me.

Actually I really second her opinion~~(I'm so sorry to say this,I'm not mean to attach any VS models)

Her last point is hilariously put! As a woman, I have to say I pretty much ignore VS and their models, nothing about them is especially empowering to me. They all say that, too, how "empowered" they are. Because of what? Money, trainers, highlights, and fake tans? Yeah, life-changing stuff. :innocent: Have to side with Edie on this one.

Or you know, they promote healthy eating & exercise and make some women feel good about themselves. Also a lot of high fashion stuff is to do with money and looking a certain way. But yeah, your opinion.

^^I wasn't attacking you, but I can't say I agree with you either. I really don't get why some model being hot would make me/other women feel better about ourselves, that makes no sense at all. That straight up reminds me of Zoolander and the male model roommates saying they make people feel better about themselves and show them how to do their hair in interesting ways... :innocent: Anyway, I get what Edie was saying & I agree with her. I like that not every model is clamoring to work with VS; many of them are much more interesting before the head-to-toe 'generic hot girl' makeover anyway.

Exceptional story.

I didn't care for her at first but I think I get her a lot now... She sort of has an "intellectual" vibe to her. something like that.

I feel the same way. At first it seemed like "Edie overload" so much work at once it was hard to process but as it slown down but at a good pace I really enjoy looking at her work. She does seem to a wise appearance quality to her, and it shows in her images.
