they are raising a lot of money for animal rights groups with this project...actually...
now that you mention it...there is an event tonight...they have commissioned an artist to create all these elephant sculptures and 2 of them are in rockefeller center and the rest are on exhibit at a gallery in chelsea...
proceeds from t-shirt sales...etc...from the event tonight go to protect the indian elephant...
those chanel earrings are VERY impressive in real life...they are real clip-on earrings...fully fashioned and fully functional...with big rubber bits to keep them from slipping off the ear the way a real clip-on has...very impressive...
the wire figures that were made for the event were pretty cool...but the deisgns were generally boring and unimpressive...
isaac mizrahi's was downright lame...!!! just a big pink ribbon tied in a bow...what?...and what's his excuse?...everyone else did this in the middle of prepping for shows...he doesn't even do a show!...whatever!...he bugs me...
hahaha softie loved your response!! I would love to have seen the balenciaga and chanel in person. Thats funny about Mizrahi. You'd think he'd want to impress. oh well
Honestly, I really love the idea. I flipped through the new W today and it's so great. So fresh and so pure. It's nice to see a magazine do something honest and sweet for a change, with no politics and no ulterior motives. It's just cute and it made me excited for spring and the new season.
I just think it's cute. And I'd rather see a couple elephants roaming around than another anorexic, moody model in 'edgy' photography. Bruce Weber's style really makes sense.
