SUMMER 2007 - Model Elise Crombez, 23, may be considered a veteran. A model for five years, she exploded in the scene with the belgian models wave. In Brazil for the first time, she's rocking in the shows and doesn't own brazilians a thing, even in bikinis. Elise talked with Site EP between a show and other.
Site EP - What are you thinking of Brazil?
Elise Crombez - I'm loving the buildings, the houses, the little stores as also the people. Even being an industrial city, with crazy traffic, everyone in São Paulo possesses a positive attitude towards everything.
Site EP - What's fundamental to make a model's job incredible?
Elise - Good vibes, inspiring places and people focused on making it happen.
Site EP - What do you like to do while waiting for long hours in castings?
Elise - Poetry! I write a lot of my ideas. They are thoughts, wanderings, my stuff.
Site EP - What do you think of doing when you stop modeling? Do you think about publishing these texts?
Elise - Maybe, but they're very intimate. Maybe in the future if it helps someone. I think in bringing my experience as a model to younger girls, bringing advices for those who are starting in books and lectures. You're alone for a long time in these job, a good head is very needed.
Site EP - Have you ever thought about quiting?
Elise - Yes, many times. Because of all the work, I thought I'd be crazy. But what happens on this business is you need to be a focused person. You head is your master. Supermodels are there because they could hand all the pressure and thought "I'm going to hang on just a little longer", pushing their limits. There are beautiful girls around, but most of them doesn't stick because they don't have that determination.
Site EP - And why do you keep going?
Elise - I think "thank god I'm a model" because it's something very lucky. I'm very thankful because it's such a dign job, you have the chance to know the world. There are many advantanges. The important is to keep your self-respect and move on.
Site EP - What are your hering in your i-Pod?
Elise - Latin and french music... A little bit of everything. I like Vanessa Paradis for her lyrics.
