no Tortoisie, Belgium is comprised of two ethnic groups, the Flemings (Dutch-speakers) & Walloons (French-speakers). Flemish is the territorial name for the Dutch language spoken in historic Flanders, a region comprising most of North Belgium. Wallonia is the French-speaking territory, and is primarily in the Southern part of Belgium. The capital, Brussels, however is mixed with both Walloons & Flemings.

not sure if you're being sarcastic, since i thought i explained fairly well...but elise is fleming, meaning she speaks Flemish, like I said earlier, a Dutch dialect.

No no no, not being sarcastic! I really no nothing about Belgium, except chocolate! ( Just suppose i come from outer space ) So they speak two languages in Belgium, Flemish (Dutch) and French? Um... maybe i should just check from Encyclopaedia! Sorry!

that's okay, Australia is far away from Europe...yes Dutch & French are the two main languages in Belgium. sorry if i wasn't clear enough earlier.

Yeah... Sometimes i feel like an alien too. Sorry for being a bit slow, Violet! So there are 2 languages: Dutch Koninkrijk België, French Royaume de Belgique. I always thought they speak Belgium. But i feel smartER now! Thanks, Violet!
