Basically the writer proposed that after Bernini (17th century sculptor) figures began to be portrayed with their mouths open. The idea being that the open mouth represents the moment before speech, and speech is one of the ways in which we transform ourselves or are transformed in the eyes of others. So a photograph of someone with their mouth ajar would make us anticipate transformation and remind us of how human beings are constantly changing - since 'being', as Kant said, is a process.

What can I say, I WILL buy this solely for the cover. It's a classic. Showing intimacy on covers is not generally done - for some reason - I wonder how this will sell. Can anyone point to a cover that is anything like this? I mean, with the serene beauty and the emotional immediacy? I just can't think of a cover that is anything like this. Only possibly Gia's only American Vogue cover - which of course was considerably less romantic.

Hello everyone...im a newbie here and just recently discovered this fabulous forum 3 days ago! Its taken me that long to go through this wonderful elise crombez thread..but it was worth my time Anyway this is abit of a rant but bear with me

Ive only just discovered my fasination with models but always been interested in fashion. I became interested in models bc someone that is a regular on an australian forum i visit recently won australias next top model So what did i do but started watching FTV Anyway i was watching it one particular day and this gorgoues redhead with the most amazing mouth came onto my tv screen and my eyes went She stood out so much from the other models and i went gaga..loved her walk, the way she gives a little smile without being arrogant and her hair So i jumped on the forum i frequent and asked anyone to id this model, a few ppl said karen elson, lily cole and Jessica stam..btw shes great to...finally someone gave me the right answer...ELISE!!!!!! I googled her but didnt come up with much except for style.com...many runway pics on that..but then i came across this site and found this thread WOOHOO I love the photos u guys have been posting!!!!!

I love her editorials....they are beautiful...in some she looks soooo innocent and others she looks sooooo sensual..i think ive fallen in lurrve with my first woman I just want to give a BIG THANKS to all u wonderful ppl for posting such wonderful pics and i hope elise is around for a very long time..coz ive just recently discovered her..just 3 wks ago
