is it just me seeing this?

I thought she handled it very well. She was instantly laughing smiling and relating to the audience. Then she took off her shoes and kept going, still smiling.^_^

Great bit of showmanship, really.B)

Tripping the Runway Fantastic

A model takes a spill at Proenza SchoulerPhotograph by FirstView

We spent the first few days of Fashion Week giddily anticipating our first glimpse of Anna Wintour. We fielded several phone calls from home asking if we'd seen The Bobbed One yet. But the answer was always a downtrodden "no." Until today. Finally, thanks to the Proenza Schouler boys, the Wintour of our discontent is over and we can start to feel whole again. We thought the revelation of La Wintour would be the day's most dramatic event. But we were wrong. Divatastically wrong.

Moments before the show began, and well after Anna took her spot next to daughter Bee Shaffer, none other than Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham swept to a front-row seat in a very narrow, tangerine blur. We loved the tartan pencil skirt and dominatrix gloves, but Posh, step away from the tanner. She's so orange you could squeeze her and make a mimosa.
Joining Posh in her grand entrance were Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, looking sleek and scruffy, respectively. Dating a young dude has done more for Demi's looks than any of her plastic surgery has. We also spotted a gaggle of socialite types, including Jessica Joffe in — gasp! — the second row.
But for once, the drama came not from the audience but from the models. It was bad enough when one of them came down the runway in the wrong direction, but then one of them actually tripped and FELL. On her FACE. The crowd gasped with horror and — let's be honest — some Schadenfreude, and one kind soul actually jumped out of her seat to lend a hand to the splayed-out girl. Though she seemed rattled — she added sunglasses for the finale, possibly to hide red-rimmed eyes — we say, you're not really a model until you've face-planted in front of a bunch of fashion editors.

 Interesting report! But Elise didn't add sunglasses - she was already wearing them throughout the show, including when she fell! ;)

not Chlöe? my bad my dear YBF. :ninja:

seeing that it's killing me. I don't care if Elise is making a come back or not. I just want her to be healthy and well. i hope she didn't twist her ankle. Elise is my NO.1 model. maybe the slips and falls incident might boost her career :D

that is just insane...who is gonna wear those 10 inches shoes to the street? the designer must be lunatic

i felt so bad for the model who fell. she didn't get up for quite a while and had to hobble off the stage with one shoe on. i was so shocked i don't even remember which one it was.

she was maybe only 10 steps from being done and getting backstage and i heard this loud thump. she had totally fallen flat on her face, and the worst thing was she was wearing one of the mini skirts and she was down on her stomach for awhile...for some reason couldn't get up.
  take care Elise.
i can't believe some people actually laughed at it.

Aww, poor Elise.

I think it was probably a good experience for her. She's so athletic that it was really no big deal. She totally caught herself and quickly recovered and then handled it very well. Models wearing extremely high shoes sometimes fall down. It's just part of the universe of predictable outcomes in that situation. When it happens, all you can do is laugh at the absurd randomness of it all. Elise was laughing and that made it alright for everyone else to laugh, and it was cool. ^_^

well said. i've been thinking of Elise all day but reading this makes me feel so much better now. thank you for this, GB. :flower:

OMG! you guys are too quick on your toes! yes! Elise fell! At first i wasn't sure if it was her, but it added drama that's for sure. She's the 2nd i saw fell/slip. one girl slipped at the finale in another show. Anyhoo, it's the designers fault they make the girls wear clunky 11 inch heels and walk like a galloping horse on the runway :innocent: and being timed so it keeps up with the pace. and not to mention adding a slippery material in the walkway or at least it felt slippery when i touched it. lol.

i think Lazaro did it on purpose (to make a model fall) since he was sporting a full cast on his leg and hobbling on crutches ^_^

god how can they expect from us to buy these shoes, even models can't walk with them

^Oh yes, what a moment that was
