i can hardly recognise it's her on the cover of l'officiel..

that being said, i should come more often in this thread. elise is really my 2nd fave model after daria. i really really like her!

She's such an interesting model! Her movement, her impulses are intriguing. She isn't a smack-in-the-face beauty. I can't even call her descriptively pretty, but she's soulful, which preoccupies my natural attraction reflex and renders me smack-in-the-face captivated. She's a complex beauty...more than physical, she puts her whole person in her work, imo. Imo, she seems to impart a special consciousness in her work, which doesn't always mean that the photograph/product is perfect or even effective! I guess what I'm saying is that sometimes I observe the woman behind the model maybe more often than what she's selling...but, I stick around long enough to eventually shake off that curiousity and shift focus on the product being sold...and that's the art of fashion photography, isn't it? Elise is on to something, whether she knows it or not. I'm sold.

I just want to make clear that I never meant to imply that I thought Elise was not pretty! Of coure she is! Clearly, she is gorgeous--she wouldn't be a successful model if she weren't attractive!

Imo, sometimes fashion faces are so ideal and archetypal or "universal"--and only that--that they actually appear flat and boring... to me anyway. Elise is unique.
