Dakota and Elle Fanning have signed with WME. The teenage actresses made the agency rounds recently after leaving Cindy Osbrink, whose Osbrink Talent Agency specializes in pint-sized talent and who agented the girls since they were children. It was time to move, as Dakota is turning 18 and Elle turning 14. The Fannings continue to be repped by mangers JJ Harris and Brittany Kahan at One Talent Management and lawyer is Steve Warren.
"I get really into Halloween," says Elle. The inspiration for her Morton Salt Girl costume, which she wore to school this year, came when "I looked in the pantry!" she says, laughing. "What I did was I put lip-gloss on, and then I kissed sugar so it looked like salt on my lips. It actually lasted till lunch, and then I reapplied it. It tasted pretty good!" To get just the right shade of yellow for her dress, she and her dad spray-painted it. "It's the fun to do it yourself," she says.
Elle wore a vintage romper with bells sewn in the hem to the Katy Perry concert. "I had to find something super special," she explains. "After the show, my friend and I got to go backstage and meet Katy. She was so nice and we had so much fun. She loved the bells in my hem. She was like, you're jingling!"
"Me and my friend worked so hard on this poster for Katy," says Elle. "It looked like crafts just exploded on it." Among the decorations were vintage photos from the 1950s, pictures of Barbies and babies, candy wrappers, glitter—plus images straight from the pages of Teen Vogue.
After the concert, Elle and her pal went backstage and gave it to Perry, who, Elle says, "was so sweet. I wonder what she did with it?"
Elle, with friends and collaborators Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, at the designers' studio. "There's just something about her," says Kate.
