It’s going to be a busy summer for Elle Fanning.

The 14-year-old actress has just signed on the dotted line to star in God Help The Girl, a musical written and directed by Belle & Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch.

The project began in late 2003 when Murdoch started writing a few songs that had a “girl group” sound which eventually led to the concept album God Help The Girl, that was released in 2009.

Olly Alexander will play James, a cynical guitarist who accompanies Eve’s singing and becomes a mentor to Cass (Fanning), an American teen who tags alongside the duo as she learns to play the guitar.

Filming will begin in Glasgow in June before Elle heads off to film Maleficent.

The 13-year-old actress is set to begin work on several new projects soon!
Elle is lined up to play opposite Max Irons and Neve Campbell in a dramatized biography called Vivaldi.
She’s also in talks to take on the role of Aurora in the re-imagining of Disney’s animated classic Sleeping Beauty. The live-action remake will feature Angelina Jolie as Maleficent!

Exactly. I love that she's always completely age appropriate for a young actress, kind of reminds me of Kirsten Dunst in that way.
