You just cannot get more Elle France than Elle Macpherson photographed by Gilles Bensimon and as a result, this feels like a cause for celebration. I do love the cover (despite the unfortunate piece of hair on Elle's face), love the carefree spirit, the styling and art direction.
Didn't like the previous one but this one is straight up ELLE.
My comment here turns personal. It's bittersweet to open every French ELLE thread after James passed, but it's a good reminder of why he used to love this magazine so much. Never was a friend of him but I had huge respect to him as collector. He and several members of TFS and IG inspired me to start my own collection. French and all the readers in Europe are so lucky with this kind of publication.
Fun Facts and Trivia: Elle and Gilles married in 1986 before separating three years later. The exes remain on friendly terms to this day, regularly collaborating on projects. Elle previously called ex-husband Gilles her "first love".
As expected, Elle's cover story is like a breath of fresh air! Such a wonderful set of photographs for this time of year, perhaps a little incoherent as a whole, a little Instagram-esque and quite pedestrian for Bensimon standards but it's undoubtedly better than what Vogue has to offer.
@Zorka, thanks a million, a MILLION for spoiling us each and every day!
