Hachette Filipacchi UK is to launch a bi-annual catwalk fashion title, spun-off from Elle magazine. The publisher claims that, as well as being the first fashion brand extension for the UK edition of the fashion-led women's monthly, Elle Collections is the first standalone title to focus solely on catwalk shows. The picture-led magazine will showcase the season's trends, look behind the scenes at shows and encourage readers to re-create the latest catwalk looks. Hachette will aim Elle Collections both at existing Elle readers and the broader market of fashion-conscious magazine buyers, typically ABC1 women aged 25 to 35. Unlike Elle, which is available in standard and compact sizes, it will adopt an extra large glossy format of 255mm x 330mm, similar to that of US style and celebrity title W, and will retail at £5.

The debut issue, which covers the autumn and winter collections for 2006, goes on sale on 19 July with a print run of 50,000. In the July to December ABCs, parent title Elle grew its circulation by 3% year on year to 208,132, its highest sales figure in four years.

ooh sounds good
allthough i dont understand what abc1 woman means lol .. anyone know ??

^thanks for changing the thread title :flower: (much better) - I tired earlier but did not have the edit rights.

I wonder how this magazine will compare to the Vogue Collections magazine and if it's evenly remotely comparable I hope it is a bit more affordable!! Can't wait to see the first issue :D

Oh this sounds great! I can't wait to see the first issue, I hope it lives up to my expectations!

ABC1 is a socio-economic group - it's an indicator of what kind of social class you are determined by wage, homeownership, lifestyle things like how many cars you have etc. ABC1 is the majority of women in the UK really.....
AB would be affluent ppl.

I'm very pleased about this, I've been so jealous of ther countries versions of these.

I just bought this today - £5! I thought it'd be every single look from all the collections, but it's more like a thicker version of the catwalk supplement you get with UK Vogue.

this is very smart - semi-annual collection magz retail for close to $100

Hmmm, £5 is quite a lot isn't it? Have to see how thick it is

^^ not if you think of it this way its only £1 more then id or nylon adn the same price as pop and as faust said industry publications with collections in are much more. Im still going to buy it though even though i will have seen all the pics in it .. im such a magazine freak

^ 202 pages, and it's bigger than normal magazines, it's the same size as W.

Thanks Arn80!!! Finally we get to see the cover!!!

If we do get it in North America, it will probably come out sometime next month like most European mags. I hope it does cuz I am curious to see the contents

Sorry to dig this old thread up but I bought the Elle Collections issue pictured above and I love it to death. I've flipped through the pages so many times and it's in pretty sorry shape! And that's surprising because I lose interest over most fashion magazines after one flip through.

Anyone know more info about how/where it can be obtained or must I visit the bookstore frequently for it?

I'm in the U.S. BTW... TIA!

And in the UK, I'm impatient to see the next issue, and I have yet to notice any 'ads' for it in the main Elle magazine. I'm hoping that when the March issue comes out (maybe next week) there'll be a trailer ad for the next collections issue, letting us know when it's out.
