Yes, that's what I was thinking the other day, she'll never achieve that much of runway work because her look is too commercial for runway, that's why I think she won't ever be booked for major labels and only those smaller labels will want her.

I don't really see why high fashion work is regarded to as "better"... I mean sure they are well known designers but personally I don't see the appeal of it. Work is work for a model, and commercial pays better. I don't really care if she doesnt break into the hf market as long as she keeps on getting other work

What's the difficulty ? Fashion labels that are considered high fashion labels are the best brands of producing clothing in the world .... I guess you prefer seeing a VS show than a Chanel one, fine for me.

Well, what commercial work has she been doing so far ? Maybelline I guess ?
Because VS and Guess are fashion work, as far as I know, they aren't considered high fashion brands but they're fashion after all.

I love her commercial appeal, she's gorgeous in the Maybelline and Guess ads and I'm curious to see what she has to offer in Paris. I can see her walk for Hermes, she has this refreshing beauty about her that goes well with the chic Hermes show.

Thats not true Chanel and VS shows are not comparable in any way and I would watch both with the same interest for but for different reasons... And of course I would rather wear Chanel over VS and I do love and see the appeal of designers in high fashion but thats not what I'm trying to communicate here. What I'm simply trying to say is that as long as Emily works and we are seeing her work out there I don't really care what kind of work it is.

Anyway ...

Emily will always get work as long she's in the industry and I do care about the quality of work she does, VS catalogue does nothing for me nor Guess nor Maybelline and since I don't see any chance of her making it big on the runway. I hope that for the future that she's will be doing amazing print work and personally think she should start working for US Vogue, but it's hard to get into their "family of models" but let's wait and see.

Lets see.. why is highfashion considered more presitgous.. maybe because its more expensive , less attainable to the general public , therefore holds more of an allure and class that is connotated with being in a highfashion campaign. Highfashion is seen as very exclusive .. so hence walking for such well known DESIGNER brands sounds better to most people in the fashion industry than say modelling for Baby Phat or even doing Maybelline .. because Maybelline is so acessible whereas something like YSL beauty is more expensive.. less available.. but other than that I think most people here like highfashion because they feel the pictures are more creative..

Not saying theres anything wrong with commercial work because I love it when my favourite models walk for VS etc but I deffinitely see why its seen as more prestigous to do Chanel etc. That being said I still love commercial work and I am always excited to see high fashion models doing commercial work! + IT PAYS SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIGHFASHION! As a model thats deffintiely attractive if your not going for reputation.. catalogues pay FAR MORE than tonnes of vogue editorials!

High fashion labels produce the highest, the best piece of clothing in the world. Everybody that understands and likes fashion prefers high fashion over other any other label that aren't considered HF.

Victoria's Secret is fashion work not commercial work, they produce lingerie which is clothing ...
And your relation between doing editorials for vogue and catalogues is very relative. Who do you think would pay the best, doing a catalogue for Zara or an editorial for US Vogue ? Besides when you work for a catalogue you take many more shots. Although in the case of VS, they have a bunch of girls in their catalogue, which doesn't happen to other labels that produce catalogues that have always 1 or 2 models. So when you're saying that catalogues pay better, you are talking about VS but it's not my fault that VS is billionaire and pays a bunch of money to models and makes average girls like Emanuela de Paula to show up on the forbes list.

I think for Emily right now, modelling is probably a gamble. Working for High Fashion sectors can prove to be difficult for her. Being talented and good in front of the camera is one thing, but appealing to the High Fashion industry is something completely different.
You can be as beautiful and as talented as you can be but one thing the High Fashion industry looks for is context. If your look doesn't support a label's specific image, then there's not much you can do about it. I mean truthfully, Emily is much more beautiful (to me anyway) than Hanne G O or Iris Strubegger, but can you imagine Emily fronting a Balenciaga campaign? I don't, she's just so irrelevant to the label. Less relevant than Hanne anyway.

This whole fuss about VS. I personally don't support ANY model walking for them. They cheapen and skank-up anyone walking for them. But their catalogues are very cool.

Sorry but that's a complete nonsense.
I know that sometimes models don't get paid for doing editorials for magazines and they do it for getting promoted but that doesn't happen in any way to US Vogue ... Caroline, Anna J, Karlie, Sasha, Liya etc, have done a bunch of editorials for them so far and there's no way they don't get paid.

^they don't... especially Vogue Us and SI! everyone wants to be there, they can make anyone's career happen. all the girls you said above wouldn't be so big if they didn't do vogue eds. across the globe. so they only pay a symbolic amount like 50 dollars to 100 dollars. i've seen they talking about it on a documentary but if you don't want to believe me that's fine, i won't reply anymore. but you can ask about this to any fashion mag staff.
