She looks lovely, and the dress definitely suited the film visually and tonally, but I expected a bit more.

I love that she's embracing the pale, but I also wish she had gone for something a little brighter as to not wash her out.

I liked the dress but I wished she wore something in a bolder color, otherwise I agree she looked too wash out.
What I really hated was the glitter in the eye makeup, it made her look like she was crying all the time.

She looked beautiful at the Golden Globes. When I first saw it, I also wished she had gone with a bolder colour. But looking at the details, it really is a gorgeous dress and perfect for her (and for the film!)

I think she's playing it safe this season because she is expected to get the Oscar. It's unfortunate but no celebrity or stylist wants to take a fashion risk that could overshadow a win. But she still looks great.
