That sound cool. I LOVE fairy tales, and though I haven't seen a few of the recent live-action versions, Emma as Belle I will go see. Rumors like this happen all the time, though, so we'll have to see if it really happens.

So it's going to be similar to the Disney version? And WB is the studio behind it.
Sounds good to me. I hope it actually happens. Production Weekly is usually reliable.

And it sounds like she may have to sing. :)

As much as I want her to get work, and as much as I love the sound of Del Toro, I don't like the sound of this project. For one thing, this trend of remaking fairy tales is getting on my nerves. It's like Hollywood has run out of material and now they've just resigned to remaking films. But maybe I'm wrong about this and when I see production pics I might change my mind. But so far unexcited about this.

^ID on those boots in the 6th picture above? Also... loved her denim jacket in HP7 pt 2... if anyone knows what that is, hehe.

That red see through dress is absolutely horrendous. She doesn't wear clothing, it wears her!

A new movie? I thought she said that after HP she wanted to concentrate fully on her studies?

So far they haven't even started to cast people yet, besides Emma, so who knows when it will shoot. Emma's a smart girl and she seems to have perfectly good control over her studies. She's going to Oxford next and I'm sure she'll do just fine.

Given that this is still in very early stages it may start shooting next Summer, when she's on holiday from Uni.

HAH yeah right

Didn't she only complete one full year at brown? I don't recall her being in school for very long.

No she completed two and a half years. But she had enough advance credits from her A-levels or GCSEs to keep her from falling behind, so she's classified as a 3rd year. She'll complete her 3rd year at Oxford (as part of the studying abroad program) and then go back to Brown for her 4th.

All of this was said during a US press conference for DH promotion.

Isn't it one and a half? She started September 2009, so it would be Year 1 = 2009 - 2010, Year 2 = 2010 - 2011. And since she took the second semester of Year 2 off to do Lancome and HP, she was technically at college for 1.5 years.

It's really weird to me that it's even become a trend because there was really nothing to jumpstart it. Twilight was a massive phenomenon so it makes sense that they greenlit other YA books like the Hunger Games, Mortal Instruments, and I am Number Four in an attempt to duplicate Twilight's success. But the only remade fairytale films recently have been Red Riding Hood and Beastly, neither of which were particularly successful. Why do they even think there's a market for remade fairytales?

^Yeah I guess it's 1 and a half and with the credits she's completed her second year.
And now she's going into her 3rd. My bad.

But Alice in Wonderland jump started this fairy tale crazy. That film made tons of money.
All of these other adaptations were already in the works, but when Alice in Wonderland was so successful that's when most of the projects got the green light.

That second photoshoot pic in the white blouse and jean shorts is adorables.

hilarious and a little disturbing fan encounter:

This is a picture of Emma Watson with gay p*rn star Cameron Adams, who plays Hermione Granger's spoof character Himmione Grainghim, in Whorrey Potter and the Sorcerer's Balls. When Emma found out this tidbit of information, she said it made her night.

and a cute video of her laughing at ralph

Yeah, I can understand that reasoning but imo, Alice's success was largely due to Johnny Depp, not because fairytales are suddenly cool. He did the same thing for POTC4 and the Tourist. But these new fairytale films have only been announced yet people are already not looking forward to them and wondering why Hollywood has no originality.

I wonder if she will be using her British or American accent for Beauty and the Beast. The fairytale has French origins so maybe they'll set it somewhere in Europe and let her keep her British accent. And if the movie is marketed around Emma, it would make sense since she is most recognizable with that accent. But if it's a big movie, the studio may want to Americanize it to reach a bigger audience.

sorry if there are any reposts:
