This is certainly interesting news, it will be interesting to see how the magazines unfolds as she takes on this new role. I don't know exactly what to think at the moment, but I shall not pass judgement until I have a bit to see from.
why shouldn't one expect "radical changes" with the arrival of another EIC ? that's kinda the point? a new vision, a new era. I'm eager to see what Emmanuelle has in store...
Alt has a really different aesthetic than Roitfeld ...
but I'm freaking surprise to read that Alt is now EIC ...
funky that Condé Nast FR does twice in a row the same decision to choose a stylist as EIC ...
I'm sure we'll see a lot of Hedi Slimane, instead of M&M ...
And I am really wondering what will happen to I. Marant and Balmain ...................
I feel like this choice has a lot to do with Carine Roitfeld ....
I don't know how permanent her position will be. It seems to me she's being set up for the transition period perhaps because condenast didn't want too much of a drastic change from Roitfeld's aesthetic which Alt has executed quite well, thus they don't lose loyal readers too drastically. I doubt if her tenure will even be half as long as Carine's.
It iss quite a understandable decision that Emmanuelle took over the helm. Afterall she has worked in VP for some time and a person who hasnt been in VP to take over might just alter the whole image of VP, which may not what some would want. I seriously hope Emmanuelle would try to open up to different dimensions to give VP a facelift but still having its essence.
congrats emmanuelle! i have a feeling she will surprise us a lot, so i'm looking forward to see vp issues under her. i personally hope she gives a lot of the fabulous new models a good shot and not just one or two issues a year
