Emmanuelle Alt - Stylist

a show with an aproximate number of 50 looks, and tshirts for thousands of dollars (not to mention the price of the dresses)... you do the math!
The clothes retail for a fortune but you have to keep in mind that they are scandalously overpriced.
The actual production costs are totally reasonable I am sure, especially if you go to the Balmain thread you'll see a lot of their stuff is made of cotton and viscose.
They also overstate their 'couture' credentials. Their embroidery for example is made in India like for any other label.
So I'm fairly certain it isn't ruinous for Balmain to give her the entire collection but maybe she only ask for the items she really loves.

i'm sure having her wear balmain is also good for the company since it gives them extra exposure... (she looks so good in it!)

she shows that balmain can look so cool and not overly sexual..

i don't think i've seen anyone where balmain better than emmanuelle...
she adapts it to her personal style so flawlessly...

of course the production cost is low... but that would actually make you agree with me.
the lower the cost, the bigger the difference with the store price, so they loose the money they could be making selling those clothes.
i guess it's just a bit more complicated than both our explanations :P so many thinks to take into account, because even if it's over prized i am sure they are not having huge profits... they also spend a lot on shows, celebrities, stores... everything has an effect on the price. too many variables!
i do understand that giving clothes to Alt does serve as (GORGEOUS) advertising, but if it's not during fashion week when she gets all the exposure, why would they give her clothes for "everyday" (not literally every-single-day)... wouldnt that be too much?

Maybe they think if they are generous to her with their clothes she may feel more inclined to use their clothes in any editorials she does for Vogue.

She may see the collections before the shows and they prob just give her anything she particularly likes.

Plus, her job will put her on show all year to people who would pay the money for their clothes so I guess it's a good advertising idea for them.

super stylish in the streets of Paris :woot:

very few sashas, irinas, mariacarlas and anouck lepères could survive emmanuelle's killer appearance in this "top 100"...
