I do not like the first shot. Poor Kate looks completely haggard. But I do like the campaign as a whole. Very simple and comfortable. One clothing item per frame, brilliant!

the sad Kate from the first pic reminds me of Ellen Burstyn in Requiem for a Dream

Sometimes big names are not enough...

These are really beautiful and strong images.

Ugh, just when I thought the 'worn and haggard' trend has passed, along comes Daria! We get it, she's all-natural, raw, and all that, but it's clicheed at this stage. Not to mention that she ripped of her best friend, Jannson. Cannot help but roll my eyes at all of these shots.

I love the first picture I thought it was quite calling for attention. Kate doesn't her best but who cares she's Kate Moss.

Take two supermodels – one of which is a photographer, a suitcase full of clothes and a week on a paradise island. The result is the new Equipment campaign, starring Kate Moss and Daria Werbowy – which feels ever so slightly like rifling through a friend’s private holiday album.

Moss, 41, and Werbowy, 32 were left to their own devices by the brand famed for its utterly wearable, masculine shirts when they headed off to Mustique to shoot the label’s spring 2016 campaign. They left behind the team usually required to make a shoot happen: no producer, hair stylist, make-up artist, nail technician, caterer… no-one tinkering with a in a wind machine.

Instead they got back to basics on the tropical island, Werbowy armed with her 35mm camera, and became the art directors, subjects and photographer. “Kate trusted Daria completely - it was amazing to watch their process when it came down to execution time and I think it's clear in the intimacy of the pictures how well they worked together” Brett Ramey, vice president of creative at Equipment told The Telegraph.

Werbowy, who was born in Poland but raised in Canada, has been responsible for the capturing the last two Equipment ad campaigns, in which she also starred via a series of self-portraits. Ramey says: “Kate was the hair, the makeup, the styling, the driver and the production team all in one. Daria was the creative director, art director, the photographer and the visionary. Their dynamic and energy exchange was unlike anything I've ever experienced.”

The brand is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year; it was founded in 1976 by Christian Restoin, partner of renowned stylist and former Vogue Paris editor, Carine Roitfeld. It was relaunched in 2010 by Serge Azria, the owner of denim label Current/ Elliott.

It’s unusual for a brand to hand over creative control to its models, but as Ramey explains: “There is a reason women want to be like, dress like, and act like Daria and Kate. Whatever ‘it’ is, they both have it. Who are we to stand in their way? There is perhaps no greater fashion icon than Kate Moss. Not only is she brilliant but she is hysterically funny and one of the hardest working women I know.”

Ramey told us that he was "blown away" by the images.

awful..she is so overexposed i am really bored of her now

When Kate is photoshopped everyone says she is too retouched. When she is natural everyone says she looks haggard.

I absolutely ADORE this!!!

Beyond the final product itself (which I find to be genuinely moving and fascinating), I love the process. It's such a pure representation of their style and artistic expression. Love Daria the photographer. I am interested to see how she develops in this.

Better than FW imo, they both look beautiful.

Daria has been the brand photographer for the last couple of seasons (at least) :)
