Recycling second hand clothes makes lots of sense -after all, there's way too much stuff around as it is-but the execution of such endeavours often leaves a lot to be desired visually and technically, especially if you want to support the cause but also want to look funky and elegant. When I saw the beautiful bags Belgian Eric Beauduin created from second hand leather jackets, I couldn't believe my eyes at first: they are gorgeous, special, individualistic... who wants to carry a Balenciaga Motocycle bag anyway, what with all those Hollywood floozies boasting they have them in a different colour for each day? It's such a simple idea, done in such an artful way. My advice is to get one while you can, as they're sure to fly off those shelves!

those look very interesting, thanks for bringing this in scott!
maybe it should be in the handbags forum though?

^Yeah,I checked that forum a bit and thought about it,but I dunno...that forum seems plagued with only it bag topics than actual designers.

But yeah, these are great! I love designers who recycle. As Ninette said, there is just too much around anyway and it's so individual...you know,in our throw-away culture creating just another handbag line through fabric mills...it's so impersonal.

the more reason to change it, i'd say:flower:

yes, i love the recycling idea as well.

Oh you had already been posting designers of recycled materials way before me:lol: This bag anyway is really nice, and it actually looks completely new to me than something of used material. I'll add a link to this in the other thread:flower:
