Victoria’s Secret supermodel meets her hometown fans in Skokie
Heatherton said she was a bit surprised that so many people came out for Wednesday’s event. She blushed a little when told that many of the girls waiting to see her consider her more of a role model than supermodel.

“I’m a huge nerd,” she said. “It’s an amazing honor that people can look at me and be inspired by me.”

On Wednesday Heatherton was decked out in clothing from VSX Sexy Sport Collection and a pair of sparkling boxing gloves as she did an impromptu fashion show inside the store. The supermodel said she loves coming home to Skokie and that she loves her job. She also had some advice for aspiring models, including the fact the beauty is only skin deep.

“The women that I find that I’m jealous of, or envious of, are girls that have personality,” she said. “They have a sense of humor and can make you laugh. That’s what people are drawn to, people that have a soul.”

“That’s totally on the inside,” she added. “I definitely live my life that way. I enjoy this whole beauty empire and having fun with it but I definitely know that the things I love about myself the most are not at all about the way I look.”
