Well darling hearts, its 5am and I am sitting in Singapore airport, surrounded by orchids and waiting to board my plane for the final leg of my journey to Bangkok.

Its exactly 18 hours since I left my buddies, Twiggy, Lizzie and Mylene - with the150 strong crew - in South Africa, shooting spring/summer for good old M&S - or S&M as Lizzie and I devised one bored afternoon. (Must have been the heat)!

It feels weird shooting spring/ summer in January, although I'm certainly not complaining about the disciplinary act of bikini-waxing for my fabulous new Missoni bikini (unfortunately there was no time for me to actually wear it)! This has been perhaps the most active commercial to date - who knew I could still do one-handed cartwheels whilst grinning from ear to ear and landing daintily on two feet with a 360-degree spin! (OK, OK it wasn't that good but at least I managed to fall over gracefully more than a few times)! As the shoot drew to a close my thoughts turned to me lying on my back doing nothing other than merely remembering the Krypton style challenge I had just completed.

For my 30th birthday present to me, I have treated myself to 1 weeks stay at the fabulous Chiva-Som resort in Thailand. Upon arrival I called my man-friend and promised to fully enter into their regime of drinking copious amounts of wheatgrass liquids in one hand, whilst flagellating myself with bamboos straws with the other. Not that I'm a goody goody you understand, but with my birthday drawing ever nearer, the need for an industrial strength detoxification is necessary before what will be a celebratory week of intoxication… well you are only 30 once!

Erin's one of a kind. She's really in a class by herself when it comes to chic poses. It's like her head is in some stratospheric zone that only she knows about.

Well dear readers, I am in a state of mourning. London Fashion Week has ended!

I mean really, one spends countless hours après calling-in 'this seasons look' with such meticulous precision, only with the faint hope that one appears not to have given an inkling of thought into what one strides in daily, and of course casually, in a demonstrative sort of way.

From Erdem to Todd Lynn and Moschino to Howell… yes I'm howling, oh how woeful I was when the mini cab rocked up early Sunday morning to collect the regal attire, literally stripped from my back to be sent back to each designer. Kind enough to donate for the week I hear you mutter? Jees, and Cinderella thought she had it bad? Hark, where for art thou my four-door Sports Series Maseratti? Not even a pumpkin post-shows for this lowly creature, just her own two spindly legs to get her from A to B.

Warning, note to onesself regarding further inspection. Fur furrowing out of control. Alluring. NOT. Obscene. QUITE.

Anyway for fear of overindulging my narcissism (further warning, previous word didn’t require spell check), I shall share with you my highlights of autumn/winter 2008. The week commenced delicately for I had hit a party celebration come down pretty hard. Between sending the relies back on the bus to Brum and nursing my poor flatmate's broken foot (um hum at party!) I realised that I only had six further days to hold it together. Between my role as Vice Chair of the British Fashion Council and playing mother hen at the Model Sanctuary, I realised that the fashion shows themselves were furthest from my mind.

BANG. In comes Mario Schwab (my personal fave), with a jaw-dropping show that took place in the bowels of a central London car park. Models literally slithered down the catwalk wearing floor length, ankle hugging stretch nylon. The top layer consisted of finely threaded wool that looked like it had been poured and melted over them. Who knew wool could be so sexy? The bondage shoes proved tricky however and as the girls swayed as tall as sky scrapers I couldn't help thinking that the only polite alternative would have been to provide them with golf carts to cater for their feet whilst competing against an extra long catwalk.

I have to say there were many more shows that inspired me that week, including Christopher Kane who dressed his models up to look like urban mermaids and Gareth Pugh who - challenging hair and make-up aside - dropped the gimmicks and gave us awe-inspiring tailoring that made you want to reach out and paw it as it wafted by like moving art. Pretty damn genius considering these guys are all still in their early Twenties!

I also loved the Fashion East shows on Brick Lane. Why moan about shows running a tad late when you can get a cracking curry out of it while you wait in eager anticipation?

Anyway, how I laughed as I realised this crazy, wonderful, bewilderingly beautiful world that I thrive on left me stumped for words when my 13-year-old nephew innocently asked: "Yeah but do you really take that stuff seriously?"

SNIFF. Xxx

Hello there, well it's the morning after the Proctor and Gamble Beauty Awards and I'm on my way home from the docs with a twisted ankle. Seriously, that's what you get for wearing 6-inch platforms on the end of a 6ft frame. There wasn't even a sodden dance floor or an accidentally trodden on dress train in sight!

Sigh, this is an old injury sustained x3 from my real dancing days (plus three broken toes). My favourite doc informs me that I have enough scar tissue to make the meat on a kebab stick proud! The thought of not being able to wear teetering heels for a sustainable period fills me with dread! Think of a vicar without a dog collar… a bus driver without a bus??? Eek, you know elevation and a well-turned ankle are all essential requirements in this job. I suppose, to look on the bright side one doesn't need one's heels to write one's blog on the laptop. Although visually it is a really rather fetching sight according to one's man friend.

Well, having to wear trainers as opposed to enduring one's trainer during a soak-filled work out is the new way forward! I have to rest up for at least two weeks, SHAME…

On Saturday I'm hobbling to the Vanity Fair exhibit at The National Portrait Gallery to soak up the glamour of a bygone era and treat myself après to a delicious lunch at Hamburger Union round the corner.

YUM

Ok, the laundry is in and I'm popping out for ingredients. Later this evening I shall be baking the flatmate's head… Think I'll go for a subtle shade of cabbage RED, or Bowie ORANGE. She is visualising a colour both pale and interesting. Hmmm… Perhaps we can meet somewhere in the parting, fnah fnah!

Tomorrow I am catching my first ride on the new Eurostar. Departing from the not-so-convenient-to-get-to, what-do-you-mean-I-need-to-cross-the-river?, Kings Cross. I didn't move to the bowels of London for nothing, you know.

Well, needs must when you plan on shimmying down to the world's longest champagne bar! It reminds me of a show I once did in Paris. As Bolero blurred in the background, I sashayed on top of a table where people were literally dining either side of me. (This was an instruction, not an ad-hoc experiment, one hastens to add).

The reason for the trip to my favourite city is to dine with a woman I greatly admire. I like to call her "The Dame" but she is more commonly known as Diane Von Furstenberg. I can tell you now that I have met some inspiring women in my time but none quite as awe inspiring as her. Ms. D combines intelligence with a down right dirty sense of humour and while I'm at it, why is everything about her so seemingly effortless? She is most definitely the plat du jour.

Au-rev-mwah!

Having consumed two Easter eggs and successfully completed every food menu of every gastro pub within the vicinity this bank holiday weekend, I'm feeling a dire need to up the ante on the exercising regime.

I'm afraid my dear friend Davina just ain't gonna cut it this time - NO, I'm talking an army-training circuit here. Apparently you can pay an officer oodles of money to humiliate you, berate you and rob you of your hard earned pocket money in the hope of putting all your wobbly bits into their final resting place.

It's not martyrdom. It's simply easier to feel sorry for oneself après the die-hard workout.

As the first flutter of snow began to settle, man friend and I were forced to confine our bottoms by sharing an Aga lid … Our heating informed us that spring had arrived by retiring!

The other lid was confined to drying clothes and the cooking of one's organic lamb chops. Very tasty, according to the flatmate's cat who meowed with compliments as we looked on in horror.

I'm off to Singapore tomorrow to open their first ever Fashion Week. I'm modelling on the catwalk and entering into a debate on the state of economics on an international scale. Wonders never cease!

Bunnies and cold bums,
