Eva Pigford

I love Eva

While I'm not sure if she has a true "model-quality" (considering she hasnt done anything too fashion oriented yet) I do think she has "star-quality" meaning she can carry an interview well and comes across very well on film in general.

If Kate and Devon can do it, Eva can too. Like Kate and Devon Eva is thin enough to make herself look taller than she truly is. What she needs is the layout in Elle magazine to come out in order to give her some sort of credibility within the world of high fashion.

I hope she does well, although I am not too sure of Ford Model's true intentions for her. They may see her as a commercial cash girl, meaning her contract with Covergirl as well as her hip hop clothing line endorsements may be more than enough for them, considering a model who earns somewhere in the neighborhood of $200,000 is certainly considered successful.

Hopefully she will do some real fashion campaigns as well. If she can combine ad campaigns with her Cover girl ads, as well as interviews and editorials, she truly could become America's Next Top Model.

While I don't agree that she could ever actually be "America's Next Top Model".. I agree that she does have star quality.. she has something that the past winners didn't have in my opinion.. which was charisma.. while I doubt she'll be walking for Galliano in the near future.. I think she could actually be the most successful (in terms of dinero and such.. not just high fashion credibility) from anyone produced by ANTM.

And thanks for those new pictures.. she looks good in some.. and not so good in others.. I think she looks great in that Dress at the Image Award show.

Eva rocks...I love her. She came to my school one time and was in a fashion show we did. I got a chance to meet her and she was awesome, very nice. I supposrt her in anything she does :)

Excellent Post, JMG3! I agree a great deal with everything you have to say!

Frankly, I think it's ridiculous that people are saying that Eva is somehow NOT the most sucessful contestant of the 3rd season-- if not all together. She's doing everything major there is out there to do-- runway, editorials (and for a wide variety of magazines!) AND ad campaigns! Some of the other season 3 girls-- Ann, Norelle, Ya Ya, Toccarra-- have done of the few of those things and might be arguably a better models (as opposed to spokesperson) than Eva is-- BUT she's the one that's wiping the floor with them in terms of fame and amount of work that she's getting.

Hate on her if you want, but there's no denying she's been more successful than anyone else could have predicted so far. ^_^

Also, I think the below photo is awesome in a early 90s kinda way. Naima has nothing on Eva when it comes to wielding a mohawk!

i tink i was wrong bout eva fer assumin dat she's not really DAT successful at 1st. .. .*sob*
i tink it's true dat ann, yaya r not dat "active" in d fashion world now. ..

i din really heard of em anymore since olympus fashion week fall2005 ...

I think if Eva goes somewhere else like Paris,Milan, South Africa, or China and drops off the radar here in the states for a while she can come back and do well like Elyse Sewell.

the photos from essence make her look like a model than anactress as she usually does. the candid above them and the red carpet photo from the bet event are also good

it came out in may i think

Nope, it hasn't come out yet! But we did see Gille Ben Whatever photographing her briefly during one of those annoying Cover Girl spots during Season 4.

wow!! Good for her... somone on TWOP said that she landed the Essence cover like a week ago.. but it was also the same guy who said she landed the Elle cover.. so I wasn't sure if he was correct.. I wonder if Eva did land the Elle cover.. I highly highly doubt it.. but good for Eva she is getting her face out there. :flower:

im not sure that a marc bouer fashion show counts as much, esp when the other 3 runners up were in it too...im sure many others would agree with me.

poor girl,,,, i think her elle shoot made it into the magazine,, strange because i remember them showing her actually shooting it.. maybe it didn't work with the rest of the magazine, maybe they had something else in mind.. it's a shame because i was looking foward to it out of sheer curiosity!!

Definitely. I kind of wonder if there was a deal that he would use them...because I'm not sure I can imagine him willingly putting Eva in his show (no other designer did).

he probably just thought the ANTM contestants would give his show some needed publicity... and Eva was the winner so... she sort of had to be in it

I agree, Eva does have star quality. I just think she needs to be pushed more into being a "real" model by doing better work in fashion. I want to see her in real fashion mags working for real companies -- perfume, shoes, clothing, makeup -- and so far I haven't. :(

Here is her Elle Pictures. She looks pretty.
