She may be counted among the very few Italian models who've become successful at the international level. Besides being very beautiful, Eva Riccobono is full of personality and curiosity. Qualities that have inevitably helped her to broaden her work opportunities. A true Sicilian despite her blonde hair and blue eyes, she was scouted when she was 19 by photographer Marco Glaviano and later on started walking runways all over the world and appeared in prestigious advertising campaigns.

She has recently quit runway shows but still poses for leading photographers. And she has debuted in cinema too, alongside Carlo Verdone. Romantically linked to Matteo Ceccarini, a well-known DJ and composer of runway show tunes, she has also taken a stab at singing, collaborating with Matteo himself.

She defines herself as an "apprentice" and wants to become a great actress and singer. The Sicilian 27 year-old, Eva Riccobono has appeared in the Carlo Verdone comedy Grande Grosso e Verdone (2008), and has sung the track Labbra on the album by her boyfriend Matteo Ceccarini (2009). Her plan, however, is to start producing a new kind of tofu with her family.

Full of ideas, and convinced that luck helps those who try hard, Eva Riccobono is a supermodel before anything else. Blond golden hair, like the sand of Mondello beach, and light blue eyes, she was discovered by the photographer Marco Glaviano when she was 19 years old, and left Palermo for Milan. She was immediately noticed and casted in an ad campaign by two designers who maintain very close ties to Sicily: Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. After signing this exclusive contract, all doors of the fashion system opened for Eva.

In less than ten years, she's walked the catwalk for the most prestigious fashion houses, YSL, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, and been photographed by the world's most important photographers: Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Ellen von Unwerth. In 2003, Bruce Weber put her in the Pirelli Calendar, and just last year Annie Leibovitz took her portrait for the Lavazza Calendar cover; she's appeared in every important magazines as well as ads for Jaeger LeCoultre and Giorgio Armani.

London is her favourite city, although she's also lived in New York for couple of years and Milan, where she now resides. When it comes to style, she names the "other" Eve, the one from the Garden of Eden, as her fashion icon. The model likes an casual look and varies according to her mood, the weather and her engagements. She won't be forced into medium-heeled shoes: "either very high or very flat, I don't like half measures."
