Fair / Pale Skin

That poor redhead in the article is obviously already sunburnt quite pink. So I don't think she completely avoided the sun. (But that didn't fit the story.)

SophieKawaii, does kose sekkisei lotion mask really fade freckles?
I started using sunscreen daily years ago but I still have some light freckles.

The only thing I'm worried about is wearing skirts with fairer legs when it gets warm out, anyone else feel this way? Obviously it's not a problem in winter because I don't wear open toe shoes and can wear tights. Should I just suck it up or does it look really bad? I refuse to wear self tanner, I don't want to be orange and I honestly don't know how sucking in all those chemicals can't be almost as bad as the sun is on your body.

try to put cream that is shimmery or pearly on the feet if u dont get use to it, self-tanner works not bad too, choose the ones that is made the fair skin and the result should be that bad ;P

Seriously, her skin is so obviously red and her face is only so white because she's wearing very light foundation. She wasn't a sun snob, in fact it looks like she didn't take any precaution at all, which makes her just as bad as the unnaturally brown girl. :yuk:

At college a few months back, I was having one of many 'fat days' so wore black jeans with a black jumper, and cos I also have dark hair, some girl called me a goth! I couldn't be further from one! Haha :\
That happens to me, too! Dark hair, dark eyes, very pale skin so I'm prone to being called goth.

Also, I read through this entire thread and I don't think anyone has asked these questions yet:
What is the best face moisturizer with SPF?
What are the best colors to wear against pale skin?

I recently read somewhere (arghhh...i can't remember) that face moisturiser with spf in it isn't good enough. You should apply a good SPF separately.

I would probably be accused of being a sun snob. I have very fair skin and I have to put suncream on or else I will be completely burnt and in pain (I don't wear it in the winter or on cloudy/rainy days, however). I like fair skin and I think it looks better and more natural than an obviously fake tan or when someone's tan is too far away from their natural skin color. To me, people just look best with whatever their natural skin color is.

I wear skirts in summer and I'm so pale I'm pratically translucent! I'm at the point where if someone wants to er, 'criticise' me for my pasty legs then I just ignore them. Says more about their insecurities than it does about mine. :D

I have no problem having pasty legs in the summer. It's better than having skin cancer and very premature wrinkles.

Very good points everyone, thanks for the replies, I think I can muster up the confidence to show my fair legs with pride ^_^

Very true. I used to hate clients who would come in and I would see hyperpigmentation on their skin and ask if they wear a sunscreen and the worst reply was "It's in my powder".

Re-apply, re-apply, re-apply. A 15 SPF does NOTHING. It's got to be 30+.

just out of curiosity, u think a white guy would prefer a tanned white girl or a untanned white girl?

being a very pale readhead - I wish I could be tan. But there is no point - naturally pale people look odd when they tan (Usually =)

Agreed... and I don't know about everyone else, but the 'tan' girl doesn't look brown to me; she looks red-orange and burnt.

you know kelly osborune and dita von tesse etc. how do they get there skin perfectly white .. ir is it just all the pictures we see of them are airbrushed

I mean im so pale i am litterally white but im not that white if that makes sense

They probably use sunscreen religiously, and maybe even whitening skincare products? I dont know, but I love Dita's complexion.

I think Dita uses whitening products for sure, maybe she bleached her skin too? Like Nicole Kidman?

I mean sure there are some people who are naturally zombie-white, but Dita is like SHINING white.. hahah

Plus she probably stays out of the sun as much as she can, plus the best sunscreen available on the market.

I wish she would say what she uses on her skin.. hehe

Actually a 15+ does SOMETHING.. It's too lengthy to explain but the difference between 15 and 30 is only 1-2% of extra protection. However, the 30 will STAY ON LONGER than the 15. That's why when you're wearing 15 you have to reapply more.. you're right!

I'm wearing spf50 or 30 at least. Never 15. I can't be bothered to reapply again and again..
