What do you guys feel about these small websites that sell fashion merchandise that is inspired by famous designers. Do they draw attention away from big fashion or do they allow younger people to enjoy what they probably would not.

For example this www.urbaeconomies.com website I ran across the other day, as well as, www.shopsueboutique.com. These are just a few of a thousand websites that sell designer inspired fashion.

Nor can I....please give us some working links Eliana14 :flower:

It is a funny question,
Society suggests that it is unethical to burn music, copy CD's, and pass an artists work off as your own, correct. Yet, it is ethical to recreate an item, change it's name and state that it is Inspired by a designer, this is ethical...

You know...it's so funny. I wont buy "designer inspired Fragrances" it just isn't the same.

who says?!?!...
no it's not...

and if you pretend it's real...then it's actually ILLEGAL...

I think it can go both ways, on one hand it can damage the brand and on the other it can bring recogintion for the brand but saying that doesn't mean it is right.

I mean the UK high street shops would be nothing without having to copy designers, I persoanlly feel in a way it does take a bit of the attention of high fashion and into mainstream fashion

I think whoever is desigining this stuff should just get some original ideas and create a small independent label, that would be a whole lot more ligit, knock off merchanise makes me so angry. Everything is inspired by something knowningly or unknowningly but to market it and use a name thats already been established to push some sh*t seriously makes me irate.

me neither. Especially when fragrances are affordable. If you're talking about designer inspired clothing I can see, but a bottle of cologne/perfume isn't worth it.

 on another note have you guys seen the Dior Homme knockoffs on ebay?

Well at least, the website you gave us didn't copy the logos.
