Fake Designer Fashion, for the masses?

Well, it's nothing new. Back in the era of the New Look Dior sold sample like garments from which the buyer could produce copies from. Of course you had to pay to visit the salon and also had the option of buying the actualy garment. So, it would be like Dior Homme selling a muslin sample of their suits to Zara to produce lesser expensive editions most likely labeled Dior Homme replica.

I don't think designer knock offs really kill the market in the sense of stealing customers because chances are the people who are buying the knockoffs weren't going to spend the money for the authentic version for whatever reason. How I do see it hurting is that with fakes out there it lesson the value of whatever is being knocked off because we all know that we don't enjoy looking like clones and knock offs make it accessable for everyone to own the hot look.
