CCTV News:

The Chinese TV drama “The Empress of China”, starring the famous Chinese celebrity Fan Bingbing, not only has fanatical fans in China, but also has a huge audience in Vietnam.

But, it seems that Vietanamese fans are even more hardcore devotees of the show than Chinese. The Vietnamese adore the actress Fan’s make-up in this drama so much that they try to wear the “similar” make-up as her as well. But what’s even funnier is that their puppies get the same make-up too!

Madame Tussauds Hosts Fan Bing Bing Figure for Lunar New Year

In San Francisco, a special guest has just arrived for the Lunar New Year. And while the visit requires no special visa, international star Fan Bing Bing will have to return to Madame Tussauds in China by the end of April.

Until then, standing next to other Asian and Asian-American stars like Jackie Chan and basketball player Jeremy Lin at Madame Tussauds' San Francisco site, Fan's life-like wax figure is holding her own.

"She had a sitting and took more than 250 measurements of her face to make it as accurate as possible," Madame Tussauds spokesperson Jesse Russell told NBC News.

It's a dramatic transformation for fans of the 33-year-old Chinese film star who looks nothing like she did in her Hollywood star-turn in the 2014 blockbuster, "X-Men: Days of Future Past," as the character, Blink. Unlike that movie character's jet black hair with purple streaks, Fan's wax figure has reddish brown hair worn in the style of a young noblewoman from the Tang Dynasty.

Her "X-Men" jumpsuit is also gone. This Fan is draped in a hand embroidered Christopher Bu gown inspired by a Chinese porcelain vase from the Qing dynasty; the garment actually depicts stories of the Four Beauties of Ancient China, and was donated to Madame Tussauds by the star.

Fan currently is producing and starring in her own TV show, "The Empress of China," reported to be the most expensive series ever produced in China.

The wax Fan is one of just two likenesses. The other is in Shanghai. Russell said the figure will also be making appearances outside the exhibit at the gates of Chinatown and other places in San Francisco before returning to her permanent home at the Madame Tussauds facility in Wuhan, China.

Since 1860, Chopard has been recognised for its creativity, state-of-the-art technology and the excellence of its craftsmen, becoming one of the leading names in the high-end watch and jewellery industry and a brand truly cherished by Rudells.

Exciting news was revealed last week as worldwide renowned actress, Fan Bing Bing became the newly appointed ambassadress of the highly revered jewellery brand, elegantly presenting Chopard’s latest creations.

The visuals for the campaigns are simply stunning, portraying three different concepts. Specific to each collection they preach three very different stories, whilst maintaining the red carpet class this beautiful brand evokes.

Each visual adopts the assurance and elegance of the ‘Chopard woman’. These campaigns include the timeless yet modern ‘High Jewellery’ creations, the dynamic and joyful ‘Happy Diamonds’ and the elegant ‘Imperiale’ watches and jewellery.

This work of brilliance was captured by a duo of photographers, Luigi and Lango. Their distinguished eye for detail; balance and movement have been captured for each of the three tales, brimming with sensuality and grace. Their enthusiasm and visions have beautifully enhanced Chopard’s history of stunning craftsmanship and luxurious excellence.

Caroline Scheufele, co-president of Chopard said ‘Her delicate and classical features together with her strong personality are a perfect match for embodying the multiple facets of our most iconic collection’.

Wow, the costumes!! I think it's the perfect timing for a show like this. All those people going to the upcoming MET gala can source their inspiration from here. Very interested to see what Fan Bingbing will wear.

For a history geek like me, I'm more looking excited to see a cinematic version of Empress Wu.
