Fantastic Man #32 F/W 2020.21 : Riz Ahmed by Mark Peckmezian

Since collecting Fantastic Man from 2009 this has to be the saddest cover to ever see! Where is the artistry?

I can say with complete confidence this has to be the worst photo ever taken of Riz. Hearing great things about his performance in Sound of Metal. Shame they did him so dirty with this cover.

the hair issue... ? . Fantastic Man has the saddest downfall of men publications. I remember the cover stories with Stefano Pilati, Raf Simons, JWA , Christoph Waltz, Kyle MacLachan...
Couldn’t agree more. Those first issues are everything. Will cherish them forever. This however is nothing. Instantly forgettable. Their latest redesign is a major misstep.

Who told them they needed a redesign? This is awful.
Riz is a goodlooking guy, but in this awful photo he just looks stupid.
I never understood why this magazine existed, but it did have a point of view for a while.
It's just bad now, but not as bad as Man About Town, which has basically become a gay p*rn mag.

I can't believe someone managed to take such an unflattering photo of an incredibly handsome guy.

I had really high hopes when I read Riz Ahmed in the title but this is just so bad. He is such a commanding man and had great performances in few movies but this is such a letdown, and has been ever since they had their re-design. Speaking of, ever since their re-design I started collecting their older issues and they are such a delight to flip through and read. Also for a hair issue, he sure has style hair style the same exact way it always has been...

I find the idea of the Fantastic Man reader so boring. Yeah, we get it, they're anti-fashion which is actually very in line with menswear right now, and they like Scandinavian furniture, long reads, and edgy fonts. But all of it is just so painfully pretentious in a sense. Much like the cover and the subject!

^^^ Is Riz pretentious...??? Unfortunate :sigh: It's a rather good shot of him; I thought it was Riccardo...

Pretentious and annoying. He has certainly made some wild claims over the years, the worst being that the lack of diversity on British screens will drive young people to ISIS. Also writing and directing a play about his 'disillusionment with Britain'. The guy is off his rocker!

Oh OK— he's not pretentious… just glaringly ignorant and racist. I can’t imagine someone saying that a lack of Brown representation in entertainment will drive the kidz to ISIS. That’s such an offensive statement to make about a people. God— him and John Boyega would be perfect for each other since they can marinate in their ignorant, racist aura.

Well I get what he meant and he does have a point, but saying it will drive young people to ISIS is just a bit much. Like making a play about how why you no longer love a country, I think that too is a bit much. Wouldnt call him racist though. LOL.

Are you making this bold statement solely based on Benn’s comment, or have you actually looked up what Riz has said on the subject of representation? Just curious.
