The Romani are an ethnic group living mostly in Europe, who trace their origins to the Indian Subcontinent. Romani are widely known in the English-speaking world by the exonym Gypsies (or Gipsies). Wikipedia.

The two great subgroups of this ethnic group are called Roma (Central and Eastern Europe) and Kale (Spain, Portugal and France). They speak Romani language which has several dialects.
