Fashion As A Full Time Job

very good article....thx for posting :flower:

you gotta lolve the japanese1Thnks for a good article

great article, thanks for posting stylegurl
they are the absolute trendsetters and its interesting to see how seriously they take their 'role' as fashion 'icons' one thing their are not, is ..boring ;)

this article helped me understand the main reasons behind
young japanese's personal style/individuality obsession.
i quite dissagree that it is just a passing trend,
young japanese will keep embracing the 'new'
as long as 'grown up' conservatism rules in their country

I always found the whole japenes street fashion explosion fasination. For two reason, the i ncredibal style, and hwo it seems to be such a reaction against teh strickt conformity that japanes culture has. Hopefully these young people will be able to bring the individualst ideas into the corpret world and change the system.

I live in Tokyo.
For some, they just wear what they want, not caring about the cliches.

:woot: really fascinated now runner... are you Japanese yourself?
please do share more about japanese fashion culture

Yes, I'm Japanese.

Most of them don't regard themselves as 'cool', much less 'trendsetters'.
Their favorite things are 'closely watching and tracking' the street fashion portraits of London, Paris, Milan, and New York.
But, they are not afraid of what they wear and even their future.

By the way, their must-have now seems to be Number (n)ine launched by Takahiro Miyashita.
